i have a habit of trying to lift things in my work when i walk past them, ive done it for years

bits of wood, pipe flanges (big ones) prop shafts

i had some time off work recently and on my return, and after giving my bending a rest, i found that all the stuff i was struggling to lift i could get fairly easily

one handed

i got the 25 lt water bottle with a hub pinch style lift from the top i, i got a good, wide pinch deadlift of a partof a railway sleeper (not sure how big it was, will measure) but i hadn't lifted it before

2 handed

got the 24" stainless propeller, this was really difficult as the point i was lifting at, the outer blade, was only about 5-8mm thick, it really hurt my fingers

also i got 2 MMS closes on my #2, they were only the 3rd and 4th times id closed the #2, also got to 1/8" on a MMS of my #2.5. they are pretty close in difficulty though

Nice Liam! good to see you posting again mate.

Funny how you look at things differently after some serious grip training :D

That's interesting. I work in a fabrication shop and the saw operator had a 17-1/2" piece of 4" x 3" cold rolled that several of us tried to lift. One guy could just get it off of the floor but I couldn't budge it. That was two weeks ago and over the weekend I picked it up the 3" way with each hand no problem. I guess the training is paying off. It weighed 59.5 lbs and is pretty slick. It's funny how you look at things in a different perspective once you start grip training. I'll have to try the water bottle hub lift!
