Thanks for all the comments. The 45 was a lot easier than I expected to hub lift...and while I did get it on my first try, the video is of my second attempt. I tried it lefty, too, but couldn't get it up all the way. I forget what brand the plates are, but I don't think it was Marcy. Brendan said they were from Dick's and I'm hoping to get a pair to practice with.

The Plates are from Dicks sporting goods they are called fitness Gear Nice hubs!!Cheap too 49cents per pound they only sell them in pairs though but its better to have 2 anyway then you can get the double cert when the time is right.

Matt, had you trained at all for this? The hub at this time is my favorite lift. I can currently lift a 35 but can't get the 45.

No, I never tried a hub lift until Friday. I was kind of surprised it came up, but definitely happy. It might be my favorite lift now, too! I couldn't get it all the way up with my left hand, but now I want to train for the double-45 cert. Considering how easy the 45 was I want to get a loadable hub device and see where my limit is.

Nice lift Matt!!

Thanks...aren't you the guy who threw a plate with one hand and caught it by the hub with your fingertips? :bow

I'm not quite capable of that feat!

Yeah Matt that's me.I actually had bruised finger tips for about a week after that. You handled that pretty easy. You'll probably get the other hand by the time I am finished writing this.

Thanks again for the comments and support. I probably shouldn't admit it, but this post is really a shameless bump so one of my friends can find the video more easily. Bill, if you find this, welcome.
