matthcarl Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Thanks for all the comments. The 45 was a lot easier than I expected to hub lift...and while I did get it on my first try, the video is of my second attempt. I tried it lefty, too, but couldn't get it up all the way. I forget what brand the plates are, but I don't think it was Marcy. Brendan said they were from Dick's and I'm hoping to get a pair to practice with. ox3782 Posted August 19, 2007 Author Posted August 19, 2007 What kind of plate was that? It looked like a Marcy 45, I think...Anyhow, good job on the hub lift!! Can you do that either hand?? The Plates are from Dicks sporting goods they are called fitness Gear Nice hubs!!Cheap too 49cents per pound they only sell them in pairs though but its better to have 2 anyway then you can get the double cert when the time is right. Mitch1963 Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Matt, had you trained at all for this? The hub at this time is my favorite lift. I can currently lift a 35 but can't get the 45. Quote Mitch Mobley 44 yrs. old 5'8" 195 lbs. 7-1/4" hands Accomplishments Blob 50 LH Hub lift 2 45's 5 tens 2.5 RH

No, I never tried a hub lift until Friday. I was kind of surprised it came up, but definitely happy. It might be my favorite lift now, too! I couldn't get it all the way up with my left hand, but now I want to train for the double-45 cert. Considering how easy the 45 was I want to get a loadable hub device and see where my limit is. matthcarl Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Nice lift Matt!! Thanks...aren't you the guy who threw a plate with one hand and caught it by the hub with your fingertips? I'm not quite capable of that feat! Quote Name: Matt Carl Runner, Graphomaniac, Steel Bending Fiend

matthcarl Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Thanks again for the comments and support. I probably shouldn't admit it, but this post is really a shameless bump so one of my friends can find the video more easily. Bill, if you find this, welcome.
