Stock Length

Recommended Posts

Sup everyone, Just had a couple questions about lengths of stock. I had heard that it was good to bend all different lengths of stock so you do not get used to a certain length. Is this true? and if so, how often should I vary the length of stock?

Depends on what your goal is? If you're going after a certain cert then practise stock at whatever length that may be at.

I think it's always best to vary the length of steel you bend, especially the longer stuff for DO to keep the shoulders flexible.

Just have fun with it, so vary it as little or as often as you like! there's no rule really unless you're training for a specific length cert (as i've already said).

what style do you bend?

so far i have been bending double overhand style. i have yet to try anything else because i want to get stronger first. but varying length if im not focusing on a cert does sound like a good idea. by the way... what are you bending or trying to bend at the present time?

I agree with dimmers 100%. The best routine in the world is no good if it's boring and burns you out. Gazza is extremely disciplined to be able to do all that iso work he does. I do some but too much and it bums me out. I have to reward myself with some bent steel.

Same principle here. Do what makes you want to bend more. All lengths will build more strength.
