Small Sandbag

I've been using my homebrew leadshot/other stuff filled KB with an atteched push-up bar handle. The time is right to up the weight, and it's either buy more lead or go out and grab some sand. So I'm trying the latter now beacuse it's free and because it would be good to have a piece of travel workout kit like that; so, first made the KB with the push-up bar* and ended up with a rigid and large sand KB, awkward to snatch.

Problem was the rigidity for the size, and the rigidity comes with the handle attachment, so what if I skip the handle? That's what I've got now; a small sandbag consisting of 4 grocery bags as a shell, packed with ~20kg of sand. Snatch, C&J and press is mostly what I do, and I immediately notice that grabbing this bag and snatching it puts a whole new share of stress on the wrist.

- What are your experiences with sandbags and KB exercizes; is snatching this bag good or bad news for the wrists? If it's no good, I can always use some straight bar stitched into a fabric bag, which I intend to sew anyway if for no other reason than it won't quite literally look like trash.

Cheers, Revtor.

Yes, it's starting to feel pretty good now. I was concerened the first couple of workouts though; just unconditioned for it I guess.
