rolf Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 (edited) Hello, I've decided to change things around a bit regarding my wrist workouts. Any comments on this: 1) Brick lift - Up to a max single, then down a bit in weight and a hold for 8-10 seconds 2) Front and rear levers - 2-3 x 5 I'm currently doing the levers with a sledge hammer but will probably get a HH2 to get some more work on my thumbs. I used to do wrist roller and Twist Yo' Wrist for my wrists, but got bored of them. I do hands in a different workout from wrists. Is there anything important missing? Side levers, namely pronation (cross-body) hurt my wrists and feel like I'm about to dislocate something. Edited August 10, 2007 by rolf Quote Certified weakling. vikingsrule92 Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 You definitely need to add flexors and extensors in there. Look back at your previous thread here http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?showtop...mp;#entry306932. Everyone said everything you need for wrists like wrist curls/reverse wrist curls, plate curls/wrist curls, wrist roller (I think you should keep this) and stuff like that. Also, I said previously and still believe that a HH2 will not work your thumb as it is not the same concept as thick bar. rtead you previous threads and your question should be answered. Quote
rolf Posted August 12, 2007 Author Posted August 12, 2007 My question was sparked by a thread on levering, where it was said that levering works both the flexors and extensors, but only the extensors to a significant degree. Brick lifting has a very similar effect on the flexors as plate curls, and it's easier to make small increments on. That's why I was asking if levering and brick lifting would work everything to an adequate degree. Quote Certified weakling. And why would you want to be adequate? I would still suggest throwing some other stuff like reg/reverse wrist curls and some of that stuff I mentioned in the first post. But that is just one man's opinion. Edited August 12, 2007 by vikingsrule92 Quote
rolf Posted August 12, 2007 Author Posted August 12, 2007 (edited) And why would you want to be adequate? Basically because I got bored of the wrist stuff I was doing and was hoping I could get away with doing just the exercises I happen to like at the moment. Seriously, you're probably right: I should add the wrist roller stuff at the end. Edited August 12, 2007 by rolf Quote Certified weakling.
