John Beatty Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Due to a generous donation from a anonymous (at this time) sponsor there will be some heavy kettlebells in the prizes. Also some battle equipment like the swords from last year, trophies, some antique books & pamphlets including "Sandow the Magnificent, and the Charles Atlas courses. Plenty of FBBC goodies. I may work on some giant sledges, too. Maybe an all steel set from 20-50 lbs in 5 lb jumps. Other than the guys that have registered already, can the tentatives post here just to give me an idea of my list. Only about 5-6 guys so far, so LOTS of spots open. Quote I like heavy things.

John Beatty Posted August 7, 2007 Author Posted August 7, 2007 Good to see a lot of last year's guys & some impressive first timers at the BBB. Looking forward to it. Ryan- Where are you located, I was thinking Vegas, but somehow that didn't sound right. If it is, there's an airline (Alliant I think) that flyes direct to & from Vegas from CHI (Willard airport in Savoy), very close to me, less than 10 miles from me, about 5 from the hotel. Be glad to pick you up. Quote I like heavy things.
The Chuck Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 John, I was looking for the list of airports from last year and can't seem to find it. I know more than Willard was on there..... RKlein Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 Thanks John, i fly allegiant all the time. did not realize they had one from Vegas to the one you are talking about. which one is it exactly? the chicago/rockford one? Quote
RKlein Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 okay, it looks like it is champaign right? only flys on thrus. and sun. i may take that sun. flight home. will search for a flight their on another airline. Quote
John Beatty Posted August 8, 2007 Author Posted August 8, 2007 The other airports that are close are Bloomington, IL, Peoria IL, Indianapolis, Chicago(sucks), St Louis. Bloomington does charters to & from Vegas also, I think they offer more flights. If you can't come into Savoy or Bloomington, then I'd suggest Indy. It's the nicest & easiest drive by far. Chicago sucks, both the airport & the drive, there's always construction & it takes close to 3 hours if the traffic's ok. Indy is about 1 3/4 hours. St Louis is about 2 3/4 hour. Bloomington an hour, Peoria 90 min. I checked prices on the big kettlebells yesterday. We'll definitely have a 50kg for one of the prizes. If anyone wants kettlebells & you're driving, let me know, I can get whatever you need at my cost. They have them in 4kg, 8kg, 16kg, 24kg, 36kg, 40kg, 45kg & 50kg. The biggest is around $125, I can get all the others if anyone needs them & have them at the show. No shipping, guys, good opportunity! Quote I like heavy things.
