Fornt squatting 405 is a great goal i have come very close to this many times but have always ended up having to dump it half way up. It'd be beast if you get it. Keep training hard. pklidaras Posted August 7, 2007 Author Posted August 7, 2007 hey, did the following today because i was bored: FS 3w/ 132, 220 1w/ 264, 308, 330, miss 352 3x3w/ 308. annoyed about the 352, but these things happen..... CGRDL upto 5x3w/ 418. these were fairly tough after the FS, but doable. did some grippers, mainly TNS stuff, can do the rb160 easy RH, and almost LH, but i am a ways away from the 180 RH, maybe a 1/4''. did some V-bar singles with 91.5kg BH, around 5 or so, just trying to toughen my hands up. that's it until thursday, CGBP and maybe PC, phil. pklidaras Posted August 9, 2007 Author Posted August 9, 2007 hey, did the following today: CGBP 3w/ 132, 154, 176, 198 1w/ 220 2w/ 247.5 6w/ 220. solid lifts here, the 247.5 was tough, but i'll get more reps and weight next week. tri pushdowns 5 sets of 8 shrugs 3 sets of 10 V-bar 5 singles x 91.5kg grippers BH no1x1 rb160x1 rb180x1 IM2.5x1 LH a few attempts with the BBSM, i am so close to this it hurts!!!! a few sets of 4-5 w/ rb160 RH even closer, i'll get one or both of these in the next two weeks. a few sets of 4-5 repsw/ rb180 BH no1x20 extensors later, phil. pklidaras Posted August 11, 2007 Author Posted August 11, 2007 hey, had a good session today: power clean 6x1w/ 100kg. nice and snappy. front squat 8x2w/ 100kgg. even easier. leg press 4x10 abs and hypers 2 sets each grippers TNS no1 BH LH rb160xa bunch, almost got this, a little tweaking on my techinque and it should be done. rb160x6, 7 w/ a MMS RH rb160x1 rb180xa bunch, this is gonna take a while especially since i have filed it down pretty good. rb180x5, 4 w/ a MMS Vbar 81.5kgx1 91.5kgx2x1 96.5kgx?x1, upped the weight today after changing my grip and finding that this made my hand feel more secure on the bar. extensors later tonight and extra abs tomorrow. phil. pklidaras Posted August 13, 2007 Author Posted August 13, 2007 hey, did the following yesterday: KB side bends 5x10w/ 40kg. easy enough. today: press 3x3w/132, 154. just for speed and technique. clean and push press 3w/ 132, 154, 176, 198 1w/ 220 3x3w/ 198. need to refine technique on this and i'll easily hit 242x3 or better. hammer strength incling press 4 sets grippers BH no1x1 rb160x1 rb180x1 IM2.5x1 LH not hot on my 5 or so attemtps w/ BBSM, all around an 1/8th'' to 1/4'' away. RH 4 closes out of 5 on my BBSM using a MMS, should be able to rep this now methinks, a hard double might well be possible. V-bar 1w/ 81.5kg 1w/ 91.5kg 2x1w/ 96.5kg 1w/ 101.5kg 1w/ 106.5kg almost got 116.5kg RH, got it up but it slipped on the way down, so doesn't count 1w/ 111.5kg, LH only stirred 123.75kg LH, close to getting this 3x1w/ 101.5kg good session and i'll do extensors tonight, phil. CoC#3 Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 good stuff on the v bar. Quote real name: Sam Solomi
The Mac Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 One of the "side effects" of doing more reps with a lighter weight is that it really helps you to practice your set-up (grip, stance etc). You will be hitting 300lbs soon. Quote Chris McCarthy
pklidaras Posted August 17, 2007 Author Posted August 17, 2007 cheers guys...i sure hope to hit 300lbs/136.5kg by December 31st!!! Quote
pklidaras Posted August 18, 2007 Author Posted August 18, 2007 hey, did the following today: power cleans 6x1w/ 100kg. easier than last week, longer pull....good stuff. front squats 8x2w/ 110kg. smooth. grippers - crap!!! may take a week or two off and concentrate on the V-bar....making good progress with it. V-bar up to 10x1w/ 104kg. nice, took 11 sets to get this righty, but easy with the left hand. leg press 5 sets. nice session, phil. Quote
egg_uk Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 nice work with the vbar, and gripper training is frustating, somedays its on and other days its not close. Quote Goals Get Stronger Lift what I haven't lifted Close what I haven't closed
CoC#3 Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 The grippers are probably suffering because of the v bar volume. Last time i did loads of stuff on the v bar my grippers went backwards. Mobster had a talk with me on this and v bar once every 10 days - 2weeks should be ample to make gains without affecting grippers. Nice work with the power cleans. Quote real name: Sam Solomi
pklidaras Posted August 19, 2007 Author Posted August 19, 2007 cheers fellas....will make the necessary adjustments on the V-bar.....will have to choose what i want to improve first, having said that..i think that i can make a 300 V-bar lift before i'll MMS a 3. additionally, i have been making some decent progress as of late on the grippers....can close the BBSM at will righty and the IM 2.5 fairly often with the lefty, so i might take a run at the V-bar for a month and then really hit the grippers hard for the Swindon grip meet.
