spahn ranch Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Do I need any other equipment than TSGs to cover the KTA program; likewise, what range of TSGs do I need beyond as well as below my KTA day 1 max TSG capacity? gerryg Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 You need 3 grippers 1. Your goal gripper 2. a gripper below your goal gripper (over crush and strap holds) 3. a gripper above you goal gripper (negatives) Pony clamp or TTK for dynamic thumb and some bands(IM expand you hand bands) for extensors. OK, that's good; I thought maybe I'd need a barbell and other slightly expensive stuff I don't yet have, for finger- and wrist curls etc. I'm just about to place an order from IM, so need to decide on the range of CoCs. Should my goal gripper be anything specific, like a full step above my current max, or a half step; or simpley whatever I want to shoot for? Pony clamps, I guess I'd learn exactly what those are from the program, and it's something I'll find at the nearest hardware store? More questions... do I have to neglect other training exercises like freestanding wristrolls, which I do for full arm and shoulder strength; anything thet involves the wrists and arms and that aren't included in the KTA program? Bill Piche Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 It's a grip specialization program. That means other grip exercises like pinching, etc. specific to a grip routine should not be done. Normal strength training (squats, pulls, etc.) is encouraged. Quote
t-wehner Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 (edited) You will find that if you are doing the exercises right, you will not want to do any grip/forearm work on top of KTA. towards the end it gets pretty bad, but the pay off is worth it, as is the mental strength gained along the way.
