knyaz Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 1 inch and the length varies, most people use the FBBC ones, and as far as the BLOB goes the real thing is half of an old York 100 pound Dumbell which is incredibly hard to find FBBC and PDA are where you can get simulator Blobs but the real one would be very hard to get your hands on, sometimes there are smaller sized Block weights in the For Sale section of this board Quote Steve Pekarskiy
vikingsrule92 Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 (edited) knyaz answered about the vbar. Sean Dockery sells blobs, but not the 50. You can find them in the selling section. Or if you get lucky and find some york dumbbells you can cut them up for blobs. Edited July 27, 2007 by vikingsrule92 Quote
climber511 Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 The LGC V-bar is actually 25mm - both are 24" long. layla Posted July 29, 2007 Author Posted July 29, 2007 in contrasting difficulty and or effectiveness, how does using a pinch block compare to a blob or cut off hex bell? I am hammering my wrists as they are my weak point, but want to keep after the other grip aspects as well. I think that blobs/ hex blocks are MUCH more effective for overall hand strength while pinch blocks are more for pinch. i couldn't really tell you in difficulty except that I can get around 50 lbs. on a FBBC pinch block and can almost get a 40 lb. blob while getting a 35 lb. blob easily. But I might be weird. Quote
