Bob Lipinski Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Allright guys, my internet has been down, and I am on vacation from work, so I have little online time. I apologize for any delays in communication. The meet will start at 11am, with a rules meeting at 10:30. No rising bar, you can raise or lower between attempts. 4 attempts per event unless otherwise stated. If you have any urgent questions, give me a call at 231-946-1063. If anyone needs to get ahold of me on Thursday night or later, call 231-676-0840. Good luck everybody and have a safe trip! Quote US Handstrength
jad Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 I can't wait to get there ! climber511 Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 I'm really going to miss seeing and meeting everyone but we have the grandkids this week and it just ain't gonna happen this time. Just want to wish everyone Good Luck and PRs all around! Mikael Siversson Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Not sure if you are including vbar with the LGC bar and the Europinch, but for the record lists I maintain, a rising bar approach is required these days. Going down in weight makes it easier to hit the max for the day. I sort of like the non-rising-bar system but a majority of the other organisers wanted a rising bar rule for records so it has been mandatory for quite some time now. RKlein Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 "Not sure if you are including vbar with the LGC bar and the Europinch," Yes LGC v-bar, no europinch "majority of the other organisers wanted a rising bar rule for records so it has been mandatory for quite some time now." When did this become mandatory and was their any post made about it here on the gripboard? I disagree with this. Without getting into detail i think rounds system is better then rising bar. I think both systems should be allowed for records especially since this is what we have been using in past meets for records. "Going down in weight makes it easier to hit the max for the day" I agree with this and have no problem changing this if Bob wants to. Quote
AP Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Is it just allowing lifters to go down in weight that matters Mikael? If so maybe records could still be set by an individual lifter if they personally never went down in their attempts... I don't think there would be any problem with having rising bar just on the v-bar for those chasing a record, though that will slow the contest down a bit. Quote Pastrami on Wry
jad Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 If we have to use rising bar so somebody can "officially" set the record I'd be more than happy to switch to that for the vbar event. Just let me know either way before we start the event. Quote Proud member of the Feat Cheaters Club! Captain of Crush 2003-2011 Josh Dale Wentzville, MO
acorn Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 rising bar for vbar is fine with me too, I suck at it anyway. - Aaron Quote ** Retired **
acorn Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Bob or Eric, has any of the bending stock been calibrated/received yet? - Aaron Quote ** Retired **
RKlein Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Doesn't look good on the bending stock coming in. If anyone could bring some Edgin's or shiny's that would help out. "Is it just allowing lifters to go down in weight that matters Mikael? I'll bring at least half a dozen 7" Edgins. They can be cut down when necessary. And I have about 4 Shinys (7") that I'll bring too. Plus 2 KOABs. And some other miscellaneous easier stock for those that need some 60D Nails for warmups. I don't mind the rising bar format either in vbar. Quote
AP Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 I have 15 shinys that I'm bringing, do we have other stock to fill out the middle (hex, reds/bastards)? Quote Pastrami on Wry
acorn Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 (edited) I have 15 shinys that I'm bringing, do we have other stock to fill out the middle (hex, reds/bastards)? I can bring a few other things too. I got some reds as well as some smaller calibrated stock like 9/32 @ 310 for 7", 7mm @ 275 for 7", lighter hex @ 415, and lighter 5/16 round @ 395, 3/8 @ 485, 3/8 @ 575, 3/8 @ 690, Big G8s, 11/32 crs @ 550, 11/32 SS @ 685, and FBBC square 1/4. lemme know if you want me to bring some of these. I also have some 9mm CRS that hasnt been calibrated yet but I would say is between an edgin and KOAB, prolly around 600# @ 7". - Aaron Edited July 26, 2007 by acorn Quote ** Retired **
Bob Lipinski Posted July 26, 2007 Author Posted July 26, 2007 I have got 16 7" bastards, some smaller, 10 7" hex, some bolts a little harder than an Edgin, and tons of grade 8 and grade 5. Quote US Handstrength
dthor Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 I'll bring what hard stock I have. 5-6 pcs. of bastard, hex, shiny, Edgin's, along with a few pcs. of harder stock. Quote
John Beatty Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 (edited) All the stock Bob requested is on the Fedex truck for delivery today, so Bob will have it today, I should have had it there yesterday, but a screw up with my schedule at work (my wife wrote down 9am on my calendar & I was supposed to work at 7am cost me 2 hours of shop time tues. I found some old dark KOAB stock at the bottom of the pile (the very last of that stock), so there's a few of them, and a few 6.5" in the dark stock, plus some of the harder KOAB's. The Bastards I sent are all the newer shinier batch, I think they're harder than the one super easy batch, but not as hard as the last "super Bastards". I haven't sent anything to Eric for calibration, but I'll shoot him a few of the new Bastards next week. The dark KOAB's & the lighter ones have been calibrated in the past. Good luck guys! Doesn't look good on the bending stock coming in. If anyone could bring some Edgin's or shiny's that would help out. Never doubt I'll get stuff there in time for a comp, even if I have to next day it (which I have & it sucks). Edited July 27, 2007 by John Beatty Quote I like heavy things.

So unfortunatly it won't be at the contest so people please bring what you can. Quote

John Beatty Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 It's no big deal, things get fuzzy close to contest day, I've run a few over the years, too. Quote I like heavy things.
