New Bastard Bars - Dark Ones

Recommended Posts

I know this is old news in a way. But has anyone else noticed the difference in the newest Bastard bars?

This new stock are very darkish grey compared to the previous purchases. Anyway as a comparism these new bars seem harder than stainless as I get less degree bends, although I'm very strong in bending other items including other FBBC bars. Also Dave Johnson had half of the stock I bought and also remarked on the difficulty.

I don't mind them being hard, in fact it's good to train, just after others opinions.

I agree with you. Read my log http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?showtop...80&start=80 post #91 and you can see I said what you have excatly said.

Yes they are very hard, harder than stainless. Oh well I'll keep plugging away on them. Everything else felt easy after these! We bought 150 of these!

I have yet to try the most recent batch of bastards, but Liam sent me some the other day and he commented on them being even harder than the ones from April this year - they were rated at 450lb by Eric!!!

I hit a Huge on the new stock today & barely got it done. The crush was like stainless! They are probably the hardest ones I've had, I picked up a new batch last week & they were much lighter, I don't think full on shiny looking like the really easy stuff I had for a while, but they did have some more dark ones in the rack & I'm going back on Wed to get the rest of them. I bent one of the new ones & they were easier than the dark ones, but not as easy as the one batch of light ones.

All the bars I gat are from the same supplier every time, so they must be getting them from different suppliers.

I've had the same experience David. I can dominate the previous batches I have but the new stuff has some Real Bastards in it :blink The DO adjustment is fairly fast, but the Reverse and DU are slow going for me :pinch It is tough, but I do like this new batch :)

dimmers,

Yes they are a lot harder than the ones in April, and miles away from tha bastards at the beginning of the year. This was the hardest 7" bar I've tried, but I'll be very pleased when I reverse one, and it will happen.

John,

This is why I would get each new batch calibrated so that I and everyone else knew what was being bought. I'd like to see the poundage for this bar. Anyway, it's always good to do business with you John, and I will have fun with these.

Mike,

Nothing wrong with these bars, and when I reverse one of these I am going to be very pleased indeed.

I've just had my 3rd go at these extremely hard Bastards, and achieved a 14 degrees bend Reverse style, and I tell you that this was the first time while bending that I nearly passed out. I felt 'drunk' for a good 30 mins. I definitely will get one of these done, just 26 more degrees to go! :blink

There are better and easier ways to feel 'drunk'. :)

Nevertheless: Great job!
