There was a thread ranking grippers a couple of years ago at http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?showtopic=11754.

This post seemed to have a good grasp of the actual grippers and where each

stood against the rest:

My #3.5 is quite a bit harder than my RB300. I think RB300s are more around 3.3 whereas #3.5 are around 3.6

As far as the RB180 goes, I've been using mine quite a bit in TNS work lately - mine is pretty much right between #2 and #2.5, it may be slightly closer to the #2 though.

My 300N - a fair bit tougher than my '06 #3

My RB300 is a little bit easier than my #3.5 but i would rate it at about 3.5 i.e. half way between my #3s and my #4. My actual #3.5 i'd rate at 3.6.

Yeh, I ordered a new RB300 with steel handles. Also the Spread on mine is only 2.75" which is quite good cause it's a hard gripper anyways. But not like 3.8

I think the ones i got from TomY are steel handled? Not sure though.

My RB330 is 3.8 level.

Steel handled RBs should weigh 2 - 3 times as much as standard ones (or i.e. CoCs).

My RB330 is harder than my #3.5 so i guess it's also around 3.8 - 3.9.

Well grippers vary a fair bit so who knows where your gripper ranks and if it's easy or hard. Why is this a gripper rankings discussion though? I think this was about tja's PR, congrats on that by the way man.

Posted

Thanks vikingsrule! I don't mind extra discussion in the thread though.

Very nice repping, tja.

I had a chance to try the RB 160 and 180 cold the other day. Possibly, but no guarantee I could have closed that 180 even with a good warm-up. The 160 was tougher than my #2.

ry for going off topic.

my rb160 (3.15" spread) is easier than my #2 (2.85" spread), but a wider so for tns they're almost equal.

Yeah, but there were 3 posts concerning rankings before my own.

i think the conclusion we can come to is RBs vary quite a lot.

tja sorry for posting in this thread and not congratulating you, welldone with your PR.
