gerryg Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 The FBBC 1/4"x6" hex went down today in less than 1 minute DU with IM pads! I have to give a shout out to the Diesel Crew bending e-book! Anyone new to bending should buy this book, I wish I bought it a long time ago! http://www.thegripauthority.com/bending.htm Quote

Autolupus Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 Well done man! That Hex is as gnarly as a cut snake! Sorry, got a tad skater there! Stout bend sir! It must be the lack of oxygen! Quote Mike Mackenzie. Luceo non uro.
ox3782 Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 Awesome Job Gerry way to keep at it Great stuff!!! Brendan Quote Brendan Dwyer | 6'1" | 204lbs | 7 7/8 inch hand
neilkaz Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 This is a very fine bend, DU, Gerry !! Onward to a shorter piece for you or rip into some square ! .. neilkaz .. Quote
bencrush Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 Very nice DU bend Gerry! The Diesel Crew definitely know their stuff on all things strength. I love that 1/4" Hex and bought close to 100 feet of it the last time I went to the local Fastenal. It'll help you get the short Grade 5s if that's a goal. They're about equal inch for inch in feel to me. I think I did a 4" G5 DU a few days before I got the 4" (1/4") Hex DU. So it'll get you where you want to go for sure. Quote
gerryg Posted July 15, 2007 Author Posted July 15, 2007 Thanks guys, I have no grade 5 bolts so I'm going to rest a few days and give the FBBC 1/4"x7" square a try! I have a date with the eastern MASS boys in August so I must get my rear in gear! Quote

gerryg Posted July 15, 2007 Author Posted July 15, 2007 Awesome Job Gerry way to keep at it Great stuff!!! Brendan Brendan, today I tried bend one of the 60d nails you sent me. It was a no go, the nail felt like a rock! Quote
ox3782 Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 Was it the Griprite or the Mutant Nail? Brendan Quote Brendan Dwyer | 6'1" | 204lbs | 7 7/8 inch hand
gerryg Posted July 15, 2007 Author Posted July 15, 2007 Was it the Griprite or the Mutant Nail?Brendan I think it was the Griprite, the Mutant is like a dull gray in color right? Quote
ox3782 Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Yes Gerry the Mutant is much more plain CRS looking and thicker in apearence. The Griprite is coated with galv as well. Also the mutant is a lot sharper.I bent one of the Mutants the other day they are very hard. The Griprite though if you can just get past the kink youwill own it and truthfully with your hex bend you are not far off!!! Go Gerry!!! Brendan Quote Brendan Dwyer | 6'1" | 204lbs | 7 7/8 inch hand
