Guest camjakbx3x Posted August 6, 2002 Posted August 6, 2002 I actually posted this topic on a similar page so it might look a little familiar to some people. My first foray into the grip world came with the purchase of an Ironmind #2 a few weeks ago and I quickly realized how challenging it was. The fact that some people closed the #3, seemingly leisurly (Richard Sorin, John Brookfield, etc), blew me away and then there's Joe Kinney (COC #4). I've seen his name numerous times but have never been able to dig up any info on the man. It strikes me as somewhat odd that the pioneer of such an accomplishment remains largely anonymous. If anybody could give me any information regarding his training methods, lifts, measurements, etc, I would most appreciate it. Quote
RSW Posted August 6, 2002 Posted August 6, 2002 Try a search on his name. You are right though, Kinney seems like the "Bobby Fisher" of the grip world. Robert Quote
blueshadow Posted August 6, 2002 Posted August 6, 2002 Indeed, Joe Kinney is a man of mystery, perhaps he shuns the limelight satisfied with his own accomplishments. A true enigma and legend. Sybersnott Posted August 6, 2002 Posted August 6, 2002 Go back through some of the older pages, and you'll find him talked about with some frequency here. He is, without a doubt, an icon. I have his tape, his grip machine and I've even talked to him on the phone (as well as some others here). With him closing the #4... it is mind-boggling, and we've gone into endless detail about it on this forum. BTW, welcome to the GripBoard!! Quote "I have always been strong.
