egg_uk Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Been struggling with the 2 for a little while now, been about 1mm away for a couple of weeks, and after reading dimmers log i decided i would train grippers more than my usual 1-2 days a weeks. Think ive had four sessions in the last six days, had one day of just over crushes and 1 day of justs negs. And today finally got that final 1mm, but overall it has helped my left hand more, this was seriously lacking. My left hand was closing the BBM, mine is easier than my 1.5, every other workout, today i repped the 1.5 for 3 and it felt strong for another, also did a few other sets of 1 and 2 on it. So this could be the way to go for me now, or it could just been down trying to improve my thumb strength through plate pinching, managed 4x5kg/11lbs last workout. Hope to make 5 at some point, but ill need more plates for that, not strong enough to do 2x15kg yet, and only have 2 10s. So more grip workouts needed, and need tobuy more plates for pinching. egg_uk Posted July 5, 2007 Author Posted July 5, 2007 thanks everyone for the encouragement, it is appreciated. Got a loading pin this morning, and have made several different size pinch block to do some more thumb work so hopefully i can progress through the grippers. Thats the thing i like about this board, even if someone said they had just managed to close the trainer then they would still get loads of positive feedback, even though most of the people responding could have closed 2.5+, as everyone knows what battles they have trying to close a target gripper, as everything is relative. thanks again Quote Goals Get Stronger Lift what I haven't lifted Close what I haven't closed
Koura Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Nothing feels that good that closing gripper what have been unclosed long time! Great work man! And yes, pinch will help a lot your gripper work. When thumb gets stronger and bigger that is big help for grippers. You will be noticed that Quote Niko Eerola, Finland http://www.youtube.c...ser/Ombombo#p/u
gumpster Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Congrats on closing the #2! I just closed mine yesterday for the first time (right hand only) after 6 months of struggling with it. I almost couldn't believe it and rested for a few minutes then closed it again...and again. Good luck with all your training. layla Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 I am still going after that 2 also and have been looking for whatever can help close the #$%%%,I have a im pinch block in the trunk of my car...better set it free. most I have pinched up with it was 25 in plates and not factoring in pin and handle. Now I have been going at the 1.5 and 3-5 reps each time.
