Tim71 Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Started off with doing a video that I always wanted to do. I did a complete 5 piece set of the craftsman wrenches on video in one shoot. I tried to get them all to stay in one piece but the littlest one broke. I took them to under 90 but didn't go as far as I could've because of the risk of breaking. The big 3/4 fell much quicker than the other one I did. The first one I did weighed a full 1/2 ouce more than this one so they vary alot. This one was still a good bend but I got it much quicker and it didn't break although it probably would have if I'd pressed it. Second, I felt good so it was time to hit the 1/2 inch again for David's lists. I tried about a week ago and had a terrible session so I was ready this time. Decided to try a 12 incher and got it but it was questionable under 5 minutes. Could've been 4:59 or could've been up to 5:04 so I was aggrevated and decided to try 11 inches even. Got it in about 3:30 minutes and it was 2 inches between legs. The vid will be on it's way to David tomorrow so hopefully the UK video players will play it. The wrench vid will be one it's way to another board member who volunteered to download a couple of my vids. Glad to be recouped and back on a good note. I think I could've got a 10.5 incher tonight but I decided not to press my luck. I'm still not sure if I can get the 10 to 2.5 inches since it really tightens up and uses all it's length for bend just about. Good to have a session that felt good! Tim Quote
David Horne Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Tim, As I said I look forward to viewing the vid. Well done, David Quote
Tim71 Posted July 2, 2007 Author Posted July 2, 2007 I guess I should've said, I got a bend that I feel confident enough to submit to David since he's got the final word. This time I got it measured on vid and all that good stuff. The old 11.75 incher I new wasn't worth submitting because it wasn't measured on vid. Wasn't trying to say that David already okayed it by the way just that a few people have asked me why I haven't submitted the older bend I did and I knew it didn't meet his criteria but that this one did. It's probably going to take over a week to get to him from here but we're gonna find out. Thanks again David for this cert list! Tim Quote

wscorpion Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Nice work mate!!! And I've just bend the 13" about a week ago. Perhaps the 12.5" would be possible as well, but to cut off even 1.5" more is just crazy!!! Man, I really want to see that vid Quote Mark Vogels -------------------- "Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right."
Booyah!!! Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Congrats Tim!!! I need to try these. My curiosity is starting to get the best of me and I have a need to see what it takes as in when I started bending, I just had to know. Keep em coming Quote I Love Bending Steel http://www.youtube.com/user/booyahbender
Tim71 Posted July 2, 2007 Author Posted July 2, 2007 Thanks everybody. David should have the DVD in a week or so; I mailed it today in a photo mailer. I used a thicker wrap this time around due to hand soreness but all in all I was very happy with the bend. Now that I've at least got one on the way I can mellow out now and not be so desparate to get a bend on video. I think that was hurting me for a couple weeks. Mike, you should definately try. You should do pretty good since you got the 9.5 inch FBBC spike of the older keystone variety. The last FBBC 10 inch spike I bent by the way was a shiny griprite and it was noticably easier than the 12 John sent me. I did bend a keystone 10 incher on my own right after that to see how much harder they were. BTW, tried the 80d yet? The craftsman wrenches are fun to bend too. Very springy and very different. When Scott posts the vid you'll see that I'm still very timid about them breaking so I go alot slower than I would have to, even on the little ones. Of course if I could bend all that crazy stuff you do in reverse, and DU and all that I'd concentrate on that. I kept the original recording so if it gets lost in the mail or something crazy like that I'm ready. Tim Quote
