coc3 Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 i read a post from awhile back that gold crowns are a good beginner deck of cards. i can rip them pretty easy now, so what brand do you all think would be a step up from the gold crowns, or does it even matter? how do you all progress up to harder decks? GarytheDino Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Brands change in toughness. Bee and Bicycle have stayed consistant as far as I know. They are avaible in about any store that sells cards. Quote You Tube Videos http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=dinosaur22840
vikingsrule92 Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 (edited) http://www.grippermania.com/index.php?showtopic=3308 here's a pretty accurate (from what I hear) card progression chart. If the gold crowns are the newer ones than those are very impressive and you should be moving up to bees or bicycles. Edited June 22, 2007 by vikingsrule92 Quote

AP Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 (edited) Aviators are a deck you should be able to tear now if you want to get a decently hard one under your belt. Other than that used casino bees and bikes you can find at dollar stores for $1 a pack or so if you look. Even used, these should be a bit harder than the Avs but are going to be cheaper. AP Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 how do you tell if they are the new ones or not? If you can rip them pretty easy after only a short while training on them they are probably the easier versions. Quote Pastrami on Wry
barbe705 Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 As a side note from an earlier thread.... I bought some of the "Bees" at the flle market and they are not the real deal. They are the pulpiest things I have found. They are a nice stepping stone for doing 2 decks at a go though. I'll try to post some pictures this weekend. And, in response to this thread. Instead of going to a harder deck you could work on tearing the decks you do have lengthwise or quartering them. Quartering decks you already ripped is more cost eficient than picking up a harder deck. Plus, I find the small size of the half decks quite a bit harder to get a handle of. TheBoneOrchard Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 how do you tell if they are the new ones or not? Someone posted that the new ones have the "rank of poker hands" card and the old ones didn't. (?) Well, that's what I heard. Quote Real Name: Charles Hollingshead 2007 Goals Grip: TNS CoC #2 (02/27/07 RT) Close CoC #2.5 (09/25/07 RT) BBSM Close CoC #3 CCS Close CoC #3
