dimmers Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 Just watched this now, amazing bend again Gazza! The torque in your wrists doing that bend must of been massive!! That 8mm stainless was at your mercy by the looks of it before you got injured?!? Cheers for sharing again, love the vid, and the music was cool too, reminded me of the beginning of T2 where Arnie walks into that bar... b b b bad, bad to the bone!!!! Quote

Alawadhi Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 Gazza, are you kidding???!!!!! That was no JB style! It is much much much much harder than JB style. You bent that thing totally away from your body. Words can't describe you AMAZING bend. Not even a Guru can bend like that. It's very simple yet POWERFUL. Quote Read about me in my biography. Alawadhi Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Gazza, how about your next video is to bend 8mm stainless DO but as fast as you can? Lets see how fast you can get it. 10 seconds? this should be fun. Quote Read about me in my biography. EricMilfeld Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 JB style or not, that's gotta be the most difficult way of bending a piece of steel, short of bending it one handed. Awesome, Gazza! Quote

Tim71 Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Gazza, With the massive torque your wrists can pump out, have you ever tried to see how heavy a sledge you can lever? I don't do alot of it but I'd just be curious how good you could do first time out. I suspect no one will ever top Slim though. He's perfect for it. Look how wide his hands are to spread the leverage out and his massive tendon strength. Man that's an amazing bend buddy. Is there no bending feat you can't conquer in a short time? Tim Quote

Lets see how fast you can get it. 10 seconds? this should be fun. Alawadhi I am not really interested in that for a few reasons first and foremost injury,i am at the minute still recovering from an injury so later on dont want to chance another by blasting into a bar just for a speed PR. Secondly other certain benders here are into that sort of thing so i dont want to be seen as treading on there toesas i did that on the wraps topic and look were that got me. I personally would much rather go for a cutdown bar or thicker bar thats my why way of progression. Quote "There he goes. One of gods own prototypes. gazza Posted June 15, 2007 Author Posted June 15, 2007 Gazza, how about your next video is to bend 8mm stainless DO but as fast as you can? Lets see how fast you can get it. 10 seconds? this should be fun. Or how about bending behind your back? That will be much harder than this. I have tried the bending behind the back with some success as well as alot of other styles some i have put videos of on youtube. July 15th 2006 i made my self a promise that i would aim to bend a piece of 8mms/5/16" x 7inch stainless round fbbc or equivalent in as many styles/ways as possible for the following year of my birthday[I think Mike(booyah)] had the same idea and actually beat me to it on 3 of those bends altho he was doing it with fbbc bastard bars then john came out with the cert for a BIEW so all i can say is great minds think alike so concrats to mike and john for getting there 1st. The styles i was practising alongside DO were:- what i refer to in my video as a JB style hands waist height and away from the body. Du Style. Reverse Style. Tommy heslep style. A type of seated alternate DU style. Hands at pec/chest height DO style trying to use just the wrists to push in with especially on the finish/crush. Hands behind back bend. DU style hands behind the head. DU style hands straight up above the head. Seated JB style wrists off of the knees. bending one in the mouth. Variations of some of the above in handcuffs. Plus a couple of others i have only tried a few times. I have trained alot of the above for nearly 12mths now some more than others as i feel this hits the wrists/fingers/foreams from lots of different angles and also adds variety and stops me getting board. one of my ambitions was to be able to take 6 of the above bends and do them back to back in a 10mins period obviously i had to have the bars prewrapped etc i was getting there before i was injured, but some of the above bends need alot more work. The 8mms stainless i have been useing was rated by ERIC at 10lbs less than the fbbc stainless so i know i can do alot of those bends with the fbbc stock i also have 8mms stainless thats harder than the fbbc stock i use this once a bend of the above becomes easy then when i get it with the harder stock i know i wont have a prob with the easier stuff. I train the bending muscles daily unless injured by doing some of the above as well as lots of isos and a routine throughout the day whilst at work plus i have stuff i do whilst on the pc and stuff i do whilst watching tv i wish i had been doing all this 3/4 years ago,one day i may write a book or something and share all my findings as i am my own guinee pig. Tim Tim I have played around with a sledge hammer from time to time i used to break up concrete quite alot in my construction days and could always swing a sledge or pick longer than the other guys i worked with this used to be a little personal battle between us I used to do what Mo Baker the champion arm wrestler used to do with a sledge this is a great exercise for developeing torgue for the JB style bend i dont do it that much now only from time to time to see if i got any stronger at it as i use other methods which are better for me. Sledges are like the wrapping debate a taboo subject on here and if you go there and its not a particular way or style people jump all over you so i dont bother all i will say is for me personally punishing steel especially stainless is what i like to do and doing that makes me better at that so why change i dont want to be good at grippers or v-bar or levering as i have found like i said above unless its done a particular way it usually rubs people up the wrong way and i usually end up with lots of shit threw my way so i will leave it alone and just carry on shareing my bending with those that are interested ,others can take it or leave it.
