Geo Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Been training grip hardly at all in the last few months. Had other commitments -work etc. Literally picking up a gripper once a week and giving it a couple of goes. Decided to work on my weak points in grip -worst is thick bar stuff. So I have a Rolling Thunder handle which i have used for the first time today. Workouts are going to be like this Monday -RT & Pinch Saturday (or Sunday if I am working) Grippers & pinch Interestingly after the lay off my crush strength has not changed at all! CoC#3 Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Big pinches. What sort of setup do you use for 2hp? Quote real name: Sam Solomi
Geo Posted July 4, 2007 Author Posted July 4, 2007 Nice consistent log, be good to see your progress! Yeah I would like to see me progress too! especially on that CC set #3 ! Sam - I just use the two 20kg plates together to pinch onto then load up the bar either side. They are crap plates and dont fit together at all well. The width of the 2 plates is about 72mm. CoC#3 Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Great work mate, you'll overcrush the RB300 and lift the 2 20s very soon. Quote real name: Sam Solomi
egg_uk Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 nice log, remember reading your last one. Youll get the 2x20kgs soon, im at that stage with 2x15kg, i was doing timed holds of lesser weights, but gave that up as i didnt see a great benefit, might have to try repping it. Ive made wooden pinch blocks at different thicknesses, the same as different size plates, i.e. 2x15 and 5x5 so i can practice building the weight up using my loading pin, but you seem pretty close so might not be worth it. I did the same thing a ong while back - The only thing to think about is that wood will most times be easier to grip onto so what you can do on a wooden block will not be the same as on metal equipment. Still a good way though. Sam - Its so close with those 2 20's ! Edited July 9, 2007 by Geo Quote Real Name: George Warrington

CoC#3 Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 Good work Geo. You'll get the RB300. Have you closed the BBE before? Was the gym closed cos of the flooding perhaps? Quote real name: Sam Solomi
Geo Posted August 1, 2007 Author Posted August 1, 2007 Good work Geo. You'll get the RB300. Have you closed the BBE before? Was the gym closed cos of the flooding perhaps? Yes I have closed my Elite a couple of times before with a strictly MM set (so quite narrow). Trying to do a bit of a wider set close on the RB300. I found out the reason for the closure of the gym on the Sunday- not the flood - it had been open all week. The owner had gone out on a all night bender on the Sat (with a load of the other people from the gym) and didtn open tll 1230 Tuesdays training 5 RB240 table no set atttempts. Pretty close on these. I think Im going to stick with these for a bit as the really work the hand in ways that a set doesnt - particularly the tips of the fingers. 1hp - 5 sets of 2x20kg with assist - pinch felt weak as, tonight Quote Real Name: George Warrington
CoC#3 Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Nice. Try the RB300 with an MM set you might find you get it. Got to agree with you about the TNS closes. An RB240 would be a nice no set hope you get that soon. Have you ever tried TNS closes with the gripper upside down? Quote real name: Sam Solomi
