vikingsrule92 Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Today we had a "griptogether" at Aaron Corcorran's (acorn) house with me, him, and a few other guys here in Tucson. We both had amazing bending and otherwise workouts. I bent not only a 6" x 1/4" G5, but also a 5.5" G5 (Aaron has these videos hopefully he'll post them soon), among other PRs like a piece of 5/16" x 7" HRS. Aaron bent a Grand Hexabastard for the first time. On top of that he bent a KOAB (3/8" x 7" calibrated a 665 lbs.) for the first time ever (Mods please don't lock this Aaron has the video for both of these, I don't, hopefully he'll upload it within the next couple of days). He also bent an 11/32" x 7" piece of Stainless Steel calibrated at 685, which I'll post the link to once it's finished uploading (grrrrrrrrrr). Also on top of that we both had great 2HP (thin and regular) workouts. And he pulled 225 lbs. on the FBBC 2" Vbar and I pulled 200 lbs. (counting the bar as 25 lbs.). I'm not sure if there was anything else (remind me Aaron) but nonetheless we both had amazing workouts filled with PRs. Derek Quote
gazza Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Derek nice work on the g5s and 5/16" stuff and congrats on your PRs. Aaron Congrats on the KOAB bars[all 665lbs of it] and also the Stainless Quote "There he goes. One of gods own prototypes. A high powered mutant of some kind never ever considered for mass production.Too weird to live and too rare to die."
Tim71 Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Man that's impressive! I'm very interested to see where this stainless 11/32 bend will put you on the top 20 list. Congrats on the G5 too. That's a great bend in anybody's book. Sounds like it was fun guys! Tim Quote
acorn Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Derek nice work on the g5s and 5/16" stuff and congrats on your PRs.Aaron Congrats on the KOAB bars[all 665lbs of it] and also the Stainless Thanks Guys, It was a fun session. I knew it was gonna be good when an edgin went down quick on warmup. the KOAB was a fun bend, 4min, 20sec to 1 3/4 then gave it one more hit to almost 1.5". Gonna try to get the vid up tonight. Grand hex is already uploaded to youtube and I'm uploading vikingsrule92's 6"g5 to youtube right now. The grand hex was not pretty as I havent worked anything under 6" in awhile but I got it done. The 11/32 stainless was just downright nasty on the crush. the last 1/8 was a real fight to get it to just 2", first time kinking one too so I was pretty happy. Thanks Tim, I tried to braced bend a 16"x1/2 CRS. Mad props to you man I barely kinked it to 20deg or so. Derek Tore up some steel tonight too. He also got a 7"x9/32 CRS I think. - Aaron Quote ** Retired **
acorn Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 (edited) Derek's 6"g5 Might still be processing for a little bit. - Aaron Edited June 11, 2007 by acorn Quote ** Retired **
vikingsrule92 Posted June 11, 2007 Author Posted June 11, 2007 (edited) Oh yeah I forgot all about the 6.5" Edgin Aaron absolutely destroyed. Thanks for all of the kind words guys I guess Aaron just inspired me to reach my absolute peak. I also forgot about that 7" x 9/32". I just barely got that bend and I was at my absolute limit. Yeah Aaron it was a hell of a time with that 11/32" and that was a fun crush wasn't it. LOL. EDIT: Oh and Aaron your 11/32" video has been processing for over an hour now I'm going to try and reload it and maybe it'll work then (I hate youtube) Edited June 11, 2007 by vikingsrule92 Quote
EricMilfeld Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Derek, congrats on all the new territory you explored on the bending frontier today! Wow, Aaron's on fire! Just a few days ago I actually told Bob that I didn't think anything heavier than a KOAB would be necessary at the Michigan meet. Time to rewrite a list or two. Quote
acorn Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Thanks Eric, that KOAB I did was one you sent me btw. KOAB, and Grand Hex uploaded to youtube, but they are still processing. hopefully they will be done with that by morning. I will post links when they are ready. Still need to get a few more of the videos from tonight processed. But I'm going to bed now. - Aaron Quote ** Retired **
EricMilfeld Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 I don't think that link for Derek's grade 5 bend is working. Quote
vikingsrule92 Posted June 11, 2007 Author Posted June 11, 2007 (edited) I don't think that link for Derek's grade 5 bend is working. It's not. Youtube is being a royal pain in the a** today and none of my videos are processing either. Maybe tomorrow my bends will work and you guys can check out the bend that made Aaron the number 2 bender in the world. Congrats again Aaron. EDIT: Also I should say I was so pumped up about the bend that I just forgot to measure the bolt. Oh well I have a witness. Edited June 11, 2007 by vikingsrule92 Quote

That's just crazy bending. BTW, 1/2 inch CRS is going to be noticably harder than HRS. The springiness really shows up on the longer bigger stuff. Derek. Big congrats on the 9/32 CRS. That's a sweet bend. Tim Quote

Alawadhi Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Gazza is just too strong in bending. In all styles. He mashes DO, Du, Reverse and anything you can think off. On the other hand, Aaron is jumping over the top very fast. I don't know where will these guys finish at the end of their road? Fantastic KOASB? Quote Read about me in my biography.
