CoC#3 Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 (edited) Those of you who have bent the red nail, how does the crushdown compare to, say, chest crushing a #4? Sorry if it's a noobish question but i am real new to bending. Cheers all. Sam Edited June 9, 2007 by CoC#3 Quote real name: Sam Solomi
liam.mccaffrey Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 id say chest crushing my #3.5 is harder than crushing na red nail chest crushing my 3.5 is comparable to finihsing an already set red nail Quote
CoC#3 Posted June 9, 2007 Author Posted June 9, 2007 Thanks for the reply mate! My chest crush is around HG500 level so i guess this won't be a problem. My kink though, sucks. Any advice on assistance exercises for it? Quote real name: Sam Solomi

wscorpion Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 If you can chest crush the #4 then it shouldn't be a problem For me personally kinking the 7" Red nail is a lot harder then kinking the 6" Red Nail, so I would advise to practice a lot on 7" material to get the hang of it. IM pads and a piece of towel (sometimes 2 pieces). Especially for the kink I use the extra towels since I'm already loosing the feeling in my index fingers Quote Mark Vogels -------------------- "Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right."

I recommend leather or suede. Quote
ObsceneJester Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 For me chest crushing a gripper really doesn't carryover. The steel doesn't move like a gripper in my opinion and it feels like on a sweep to the final part is a lot easier then on a piece of steel. I can chest crush my #4 and honestly it just doesn't feel like the steel I'm bending.. Quote Name: Rob H
liam.mccaffrey Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 (edited) i agree it doesn't feel the same, but doing overcrushes on my 3.5 is a bit like doing dynamic isos i suppose it helps me anyway, ps i do normal isos too, but the gripper helped to modify the way i used to crush. i went from taking 5 strugling mins to do a bastard with 90% of the time spent on the crush. to taking one out in 1:20 taking my time; all in about 3 weeks not saying it was all to do with the gripper but i likened it to gazzas tip of doing kink drills with a flexy plastic rod Edited June 9, 2007 by liamcafs Quote
