androushka Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Hey people, I'm just getting started with some more focused grip-training, I usually lift kettlebells and do a lut of pull-ups, and I was wondering, is hanging, pulling-up, locking-off etc gripping a towel a good way to build crush-grip-strength? It would fit in my current strength-training much better than adding new excercises. Thanks for any input! Quote
underdawg Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Works for me. I can barely move my fingers when I'm done with these. Quote Real Name: Jonathan Creason Arise...kill...eat... --Acts 10:13
wscorpion Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 I tried it once and i liked it very much, only the towel didn't like it and ripped apart Then i tried with another towel which i made wet first, and this one didn't rip but it wasn't pleasant holding a wet towel.... underdawg Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 If you've got an old pair of jeans that need to be thrown out cut the legs off. Now loop each leg over the bar and grab one in each hand. Now chin away. Quote Real Name: Jonathan Creason Arise...kill...eat... --Acts 10:13
makey98 Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 i took 2 thin cheap bath towels and folded it a couple times and threw them over the headers in my garage. It is almost too thick to get my hands around each one, but they seem to kill my hands. I can only do a couple. I seem much better at them after a gripper workout though....maybe just need to warmup a bit before trying them... Quote Current Goals: COC #2.5 45# blob R-Grade 5/G8 DO Deck of cards <10 sec.
