MalachiMcMullen Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 This is a question to all of you who have or have tried the BBGM. Where was it strength-wise? My birthday is coming up soon and the BBGM and SM are an idea, I want to know if its just as hard as a new #3 or if it's typically alittle easier like say a 2.8 or 2.9. I don't want to spend $25 on a double! Any replies appreciated! Thanks Quote Zach Coulter Goals #1- The Planche
Hubgeezer Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 They used to be around 2.9, a bit easier than a "typical" (whatever that means) 3. The spread is around 1/4 inch less, and they now are knurlier than IM's. They used to be around 2.9, a bit easier than a "typical" (whatever that means) 3. kilkkinen Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 I have tested and calibrated about 10 different BBGM. Those varies 2.61-3.15 what I have calibrated. Only one was easy, 2.61. All the rest were 3.0-3.15 Quote Matti Heiskanen
pdfk20 Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 My BBGM is a 2.97 right on the money. Quote Pete Kerr, 165lbs Goals: Close current hard #3 Dominate #3 again 16/06/12 CCS several hard #3's, MM2 replica etc #3 Cert MMS #3.5 Close a brand new #3.5 out of the packet MM3 100kg 2HP Finish in the top 3 in this years WSH under 82.5kg class
thearm95 Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Mine's the same as Pete's, only just under the '06 #3, but I can only base that on having recently done 2 reps on my GM, and a workout or so later missing the 2nd rep on my #3 by the tiniest amount. - Duncan Quote Duncan.
PowerHouse Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 My GM is a little bit harder then my #3. Quote Goals: To be stronger then I was last week. I don't mean to be condescending(which means to talk down to)..........
MalachiMcMullen Posted May 30, 2007 Author Posted May 30, 2007 Would ordering a Grand Master with a narrower spread be a good idea? Say 2 5/8" or 2 3/4"? It sounds like I'd almost be buying a double if the majority of them are pretty much #3 strength. Quote Zach Coulter Goals #1- The Planche
Niels Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 (edited) My GM is around 2.8 - 2.9 Edited May 30, 2007 by Niels Quote

big bri Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 i'd say save your money and just go for the BBSM. The BBSM is a great training tool for the #3. I use mine for strapholds. Quote Goals: MM close #3 - Done 9/22/05 Cert HG300 - Done 12/15/05 CCS close #3 #3 cert MM0 cert
capone30 Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 I recieved my BB gripers about 2- 3 months ago and the gm I would rate it a 2.8 2. 9 and the super master about a 2.5 comparing them to my coc grippers, My RB210 is about the same 2.8 but the BB grippers are More narrow in spread so i would go for the GM Quote Pain is good Pain build's character
