makey98 Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Mittins, you are much better at grippers than me, but some basic ideas are as follows. Strap holds- take a piece of nylon or string and attach a couple pounds and hold the string by closing a gripper File your 2.5- Someone who is a Mash Monster in their interview said to file every gripper that you have.....(sorry can't remember who said that....) maybe take some time off, I don't know you or your training history, but you seem to be pretty strong off the bat, maybe some of your early progress was nueral adaptation and some progress was physical and maybe you need a rest.... I haven't really done much gripper work, I just have read what people have said on here. Also, it seems to help people to do negatives with a gripper that is harder than your goal gripper, so maybe get a BB elite or something.... Scott Styles runs a great website called www.Gripfaq.com that has pictures of all of these techniques and about everything grip related under the sun, check it out.....Good luck! Sybersnott Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 File your 2.5- Someone who is a Mash Monster in their interview said to file every gripper that you have.....(sorry can't remember who said that....) I'd like to know WHO said that... sounds like the dumbest piece of advice about grippers that I've ever heard! Quote "I have always been strong. crobb1320 Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 i have the same type of problem,my "almost closed" grip is difficult to improve, open grip is good.strap holds do seem to help, also negative holds seemed to help me,everyone is different. some time off is good to get fully recovered,if you over do it like i do.but anyway keep up the good work, you will close it soon. David Horne Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Pete, Good advice. Don't chop and change workouts, stick to the workout for 12-16 weeks before changing. You can't be strong at everything! David Quote

CoC#3 Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 I think filing grippers is a great idea. I filed both my original #2 and one of my #3s. It has helped my close more than anything else i have done. Quote real name: Sam Solomi
