wscorpion Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 First PR: 5/16 6" round HRS Reverse bend: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZfGRoIi4qw Didn't have something to measure the degree of the bend, but I'm pretty sure it's over 40 degrees. Second PR: 6.5" Red Nail, Double Overhand: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnPoy7ib9Uo I didn't feel too well today, and I promised myself I wouldn't bend DO for at least a week to give my index fingers a rest, but I couldn't leave the 6.5" piece lying there As you can see It's quite a fight for me on this vid, normally it should be easier Quote Mark Vogels -------------------- "Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right."
Yersinia Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 great bends Mark Quote Goals! : Dominate the #2.5 and BBSM Done!
dimmers Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Very very nice bends there!!! again, you look strong with that red DO. What's even more impressive is you do the whole bend standing upright, like it's no big deal i like the reverse bend as well, that was well over 40 degrees by my eye! (just be careful though as the way you bent that with your face over the bar if your top hand slips off the bar then it's going to hit you straight in the face i've got a feeling that you're going to be destroying some really big steel in a few months time Quote
wscorpion Posted May 28, 2007 Author Posted May 28, 2007 Thanks guys! I doubt something bad will happen with reverse bending like this since I just lock my right arm and I'm not applying any force upwards. So even if my top hand slips off nothing bad will happen (I hope) I hope I will be destroying some big steel soon, but at least thanks for the confidence Quote Mark Vogels -------------------- "Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right."

EricMilfeld Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 You're making really good progress, Mark! Congrats on those impressive bends! Quote
wscorpion Posted May 29, 2007 Author Posted May 29, 2007 Thanks guys! As for the certs, i have some 10mm round and 10mm square (what would the US size be? 3/8 or 7/16) lying around here, I hope I will be able to bend one of those soon and get certified Quote Mark Vogels -------------------- "Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right."
JoeGrip Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Reverse technique looks much much better , awesome bends man! Quote
dimmers Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 1mm = 0.03937 inches so 10mm = 0.3937 inches so just over 3/8" (0.375 inches) Quote
wscorpion Posted May 29, 2007 Author Posted May 29, 2007 Reverse technique looks much much better , awesome bends man! It's not difficult, i just didn't know any better with the form on that other thread. but then again, apparently it was an existing style 1mm = 0.03937 inchesso 10mm = 0.3937 inches so just over 3/8" (0.375 inches) yes i've noticed, 3/8 = 9.5mm , 7/16 = 11mm. So 13/32 would be more correct Quote Mark Vogels -------------------- "Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right."

If you are wanting to get certed with different types of steel to get on the top 20 Lists, like the 10mm HRS might not make the list, CRS would definitely make it, you would need to send 1 or 2 pieces or so to Eric Milfield for calibration Check out these links GripBoard Cert Lists http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?showforum=21 The Nailman's Top 20 Bending List in the Pinned area at 5", 6", 7". Tha GripBoard Rules are also in the pinned area. http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?showforum=18 FBBC/ Fat Bastard Barbell Co http://www.fatbastardbarbellco.com/BENDERBAG1.html David Horne's World of Grip http://www.davidhorne-gripmaster.com/bending.html Hope this helps. Cool avatar btw @Booyah!!! > Thanks for the links, I'm sure I've already read most of them when I just joined here, but didn't really pay attention since all the bends on the lists seemed way too far away. So I will read them once more Edited May 29, 2007 by White Scorpion Quote Mark Vogels -------------------- "Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right."
