vikingsrule92 Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 (edited) What kind of frying pans do you guys use? The ones I found at BigLots go down in three rolls and are no challenge at all, where do you guys get yours and what brand would be moderately hard (relatively speaking)? Where do you find cheap card decks (non Bee or Bicycle)? I've looked everywhere, swap meet, dollar stores, etc but I can't find any cheap brands. Suggestions on cheap brands? Is there a place to find phonebooks or do you just use old ones? Sorry if these are dumb questions but I really can't find these items so any help is appreciated. makey98 Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 (edited) Cards: The best place is Wal-mart because they are obviously a big chain and almost every store will have them. They sell Gold Crowns (2 for a buck) which used to be an easy tear, but now are a pretty hard tear, on par or tougher than Bicycles... Phone Books: I haven't done this yet, but I have read on here people will call a recycling center and ask for them, and then promise to return them once ripped... Frying Pans: Haven't tried this yet, sorry can't help ya.. Edited May 28, 2007 by makey98 Quote Current Goals: COC #2.5 45# blob R-Grade 5/G8 DO Deck of cards <10 sec.
cjsta Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 (edited) Cards... The cheapest cards I have found that are an easier tear are from the Dollar Tree stores. They are two for a dollar and are a good beginer deck. If you don't have any locally go to www.dollartree.com. Those new Gold Crowns from Wal-Mart, also two for a dollar, have been tougher than the Bicycle Rider Backs that they sell also. They are nice for progressive tearing for beginers also because they are inexpensive. Frying Pans...I have been using the Tramontina 3 packs from Wal-Mart lately. They are a good quality pan and are more affordable than T-fal. Wal-Mart sells them for around $18 for a 3 pack, 8"-10"-12". http://strongmanfeats.com/3PanRoll.html Ollies is another place to watch for both cards and pans, I have found T-fal for $7.99 each and bicycle decks for $.99 each. But you never know what you will find there. Phonebooks... There are many places to get these. First off is the recycle center, another good place is a large office building because when the new books come out they get rid of their old ones. Just ask the receptionist if you can have the old ones when they get new ones...be prepared to rip one on demand when you ask. If all else fails you can call the phonebook printing company and request additional local directories, there is an 800 # in the front of the book. Some companies don't care and give them for free even after you tell them what you want them for...they wonder why someone with only 1 phone # needs 50 phonebooks. And some companies want to charge you like $65 for each directory...MAKE SURE THEY ARE FREE!!!! You don't want them charged to your phone bill. Hope this helps, Chris Edited May 28, 2007 by cjsta Quote
