dunebuggy31 Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 hey fellas, ive been strictly using sand as the filler material but the whole thing is getting too wide and lopsided for me (i got a short reach) to effectively try and military press. i figured throwing lengths of thick metal chain in there should solve the problem of weight vs. size of whole sandbag. my question is this: what kind of metal chain, i.e: grade, material, cost etc., would be most effective when thrown into a sandbag to complement the sand already there? any thoughts would be appreciated thanx Quote It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog
apttdwler Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 I don't think chain would be very cost affective, unless you could find it used at a junkyard. I'd recommend going to a tire store and getting some used tire balance weights. They should be free or very cheap. I've also experimenting with river rock instead of sand. I think it is a bit more heavy than sand. It is bigger than a marble but smaller than a golf ball. I got 400 pounds for $10, but the lady was confused and I think it was suppose to be $20...
