wscorpion Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 I wanted to wait until my hands stopped hurting before bending again, but the steel was just waving at me with a big smile So as promised, here's the video. A few notes: - Used IM pads + a piece of towel since my hands still hurt too much - The rubber bands are just for wrapping purposes, not for adding extra grip - Don't mind the face, I had a terrible headache which hurts even worse when applying force. - Apparently my photo camera which I used for the video has a time limit of 3 minutes, that's why it stopped while i was showing that it's below 2 inches I tried the 6" Red Nail first, but I only got it to 90 degrees and then I couldn't continue anymore. I also tried taping this, but since I took too much time wrapping, the bend itself didn't got on video, so no need to post that video Any comments regarding technique are welcome, I'm still a newbie when it comes to bending Here's the link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5I-HMjrqFQ A picture of the 6" Red can be found in my gallery. wscorpion Posted May 24, 2007 Author Posted May 24, 2007 Congrats man! Thanks dude Did you already gave the steel I sent you a try? The 8mm concrete steel is something I still can't bend, so it's harder then a red nail Quote Mark Vogels -------------------- "Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right."
dimmers Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 you've got plenty of power, that's for sure! you melted that bar!!! congrats matey. as for your form, i'm no expert so can't really comment, but you could probably try and get the nail a bit higher up under your chin (as this has been one of the comments on a previous vid of mine by someone who knows what they're talking about). also keep your hands closer to your chest, i noticed you twist your hands towards the end there. On your crush, if you push into your chest this will stop your hands twisting. when you get your form down, you'll be really good i reckon! Quote
ObsceneJester Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Don't lean back on the bend.. I still have a problem with it, but when you first go for the kink don't lean back Quote Name: Rob H

wscorpion Posted May 24, 2007 Author Posted May 24, 2007 (edited) Thanks guys for the supporting comments! @dimmers, thanks for the tip, i constantly try to get my hands under my chin, but it just doesn't feel right yet. I think i'm just not lean enough As for the twisting, i will keep that in mind next bend, thanks! @ObsceneJester, i will keep that in mind, thanks for the tip! bencrush Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Nice bends. Instead of leaning back on the start, you might even try the exact opposite. I lean over about 45 degrees and pull the bar high and touch under my chin with it. Then smash it. Quote

Booyah!!! Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 I like the bend. Might get it a little higher if it helps. You might want to stick with just using IM wraps until you get certed. I do know someone that bends Quite well kinking leaning back and is now holding the fourth place on the 7" bars. Quote I Love Bending Steel http://www.youtube.com/user/booyahbender
wscorpion Posted May 25, 2007 Author Posted May 25, 2007 Tx guys I like the bend. Might get it a little higher if it helps. You might want to stick with just using IM wraps until you get certed.I do know someone that bends Quite well kinking leaning back and is now holding the fourth place on the 7" bars. I will let my fingers take some rest now, and next week i will start bending only with IM pads, I'm sure i can bend it already with just IM pads, but it just hurts too much right now since my index fingers feel quite bruised Quote Mark Vogels -------------------- "Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right."
