Just wondering how many people on here use Dexterity balls in their training? In your opinion to you think they are a big part to your training or a small portion of it? Fans or critics of using these?

Thanks guys for any replies.

I use the solid marble Chinese balls if they're similar? I find they keep my hands moving and a lot more supple.

I use some right now (though they are getting to light and easy) I plan to get some heavy ones and some odd sized ones also. I find they speed up recovery and they help with dexterity and balance. Which is very important because I play first chair for the Violas in a orchestra....My hands have to be fast, supple, and balanced. I think for anyone doing grip work they are a great asset because they let you train sooner, and balance is the key to health.

I wouldn't mind finding some heavier ones in the UK but can't seem to. I look like approaching some bearing companies and see if they will sell me a couple ;)

These balls are absolutely great. I have used them always. They speed up recovery quite much. Just roll them every day and many times and you know the difference :)

I use steel ball bearings, which are far heavier than the standard ones. I have two pairs, 4.2 cm in diameter one and 5 cm (2 inches) the other. I can rotate both pairs clockwise and anticlockwise with my left and my right hands, palms up and down-palms up without touching each other. I am trying to manage to rotate al least the smaller pair palms down without touching each other, but I can't without a tricky rotation of my wrist.

I find this exercise increses suppleness and dexterity, but also endurance and strength if you work palms down, specially with solid ball bearings. Wrist endurance is also developed isometrically.

If you speak about coordination.. You have to try roll those balls palm down. That's cool! My hands get so fast very fatiqued. Strange..
