gerryg Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 A few months back I bought some stock from FBBC, the 1/4"x7" round crs was a struggle for me. I bent it but it was a long hard battle! After that I kind of put the bending hobby in the closet for a while. A few weeks back I traded some stock with Brendan Dwyer aka OX3782, the stuff he sent me light a fire in me! So today I picked up the FBBC 1/4"x7" round and it melted like butter in my hands, I tried a FBBC 1/4"x6" round and that went down, I tried another FBBC 1/4"x6" round and I bent that! All three bends in less than 5 minutes! Thanks Brendan! Quote
dimmers Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 great work matey! i bet you don't stop bending the steel all week now congrats again, all that fbbc stock is tough stuff Quote

ObsceneJester Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Congrats big man.. so you've bent better then a blue. Keep that train going Quote Name: Rob H
ox3782 Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Awesome Gerry very impressive I knew you had it in there now keep it up and more PR's to come for sure!!!! Brendan Quote Brendan Dwyer | 6'1" | 204lbs | 7 7/8 inch hand
Tim71 Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Laugh? A 1/4 inch FBBC bar is a good bend. You can probably take down an average 60d nail now which is a long-standing mark of acheivment in the short bending world. Sometimes it's just easy to look at these guys on this board bending all this stainless this and that and downplay the 1/4 inch stuff. You just have to keep in mind that some of the best short benders in the world are on this board. Nice Job! Get some 60d nails now and try them. When you can do those people really get a kick out of it. Tim Quote
dimmers Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Tim always puts up a good post! well said Tim, i agree that the 1/4" fbbc stock is no laugh, it's tough stuff as i said in my post. congrats again matey. Quote
wscorpion Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Nice work! Now for the 5,5" and 5". I'm sure you will get it Quote Mark Vogels -------------------- "Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right."
acorn Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Theres no laughing at a fellow bender allowed at my house. No matter what it is, a PR is a PR! Congrats! A 1/4 bar is a good bend in my book too. For most of us, me included the first yellow or better was a challenge. Mostly for that damn 7" length. Rest up and kill something even harder next time. It is the addiction to steel. - Aaron Quote ** Retired **

bencrush Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Great job Gerry! 1/4" FBBC stock is no joke man. I don't think there is anyone here who would laugh even if your best bend was 1/8" CRS. Mutual respect is usually the absolute rule in the grip world. Were these DU bends? Hit some hard 60D Nails next. Then the Grade 5 will fall. Quote

Alawadhi Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 DO bend of a 1/4 FBBC is great. But DU in dave ostlund style way harder than normal DU. and normal DU for me is way harder than DO. So that is GREAT Quote Read about me in my biography. ox3782 Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 That is Great Gerry I was curious as to which form you were using I assumed DO but DU is tough stuff. Also be sure to try the griprite 60D first before that Mazel mutant nail.I personally think that Mazel had a more difficult kink than a G8 bolt not as much crush but the kink is obscene.Just go at those nails like you would go at the 1/4x6 Fbbc expect it to bend and it will.Great Job Gerry Brendan Quote Brendan Dwyer | 6'1" | 204lbs | 7 7/8 inch hand
