Justin Reagan Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Had a nice little bending workout. I hit a 5.5" x 1/4" square, a couple 6 3/4" x 5/16 zinc plated, and a 5.25" x 9/32" drill rod (again, CRAZY crush on this stuff...). About a couple pieces in, I tried a 7" x 5/16" fbbc. I must still have a problem with 7" pieces, or something, because I still can't get a kink in it. I figured I would be able to at least wobble it by now! I kinked a 5" piece of that 9/32" drill rod to 50 degrees or so, but then it decided it wanted to turn into titanium or something... After I got tired (I keep doing this--I need to do it when I'm fresh), I remembered I wanted to try one of my F911 bolts. Well, at least it will barely roll on a table now...and I can stick 2 pennies and ALMOST a dime under it. Did a little DU bending, also. Hit a 6 1/8" piece of 9/32 DR. Then I tried a G8--just a kink, like always. Justin Quote
ObsceneJester Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Great job on that Square.. I tried a 5 1/4 Grade 8 and I have to say that thing was a monster and still is.. and after working on the crush of my 6" pieces of square I know that must of been a good fight.. I am having the same problem with the bastard as well (tho I'm not as strong) I can put maybe a 1 penny kink in that thing.. Those things are bears Quote Name: Rob H
dimmers Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Nice workout Justin!!! i love that square stuff, it's a great workout. the bastard will fall sooner than you think, just keep hitting it hard! Quote
ox3782 Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Nice work for sure I cant belive you can bend the square and not a G8 unless I missed some thing I thought the square was harder.Great Job!!! Brendan Quote Brendan Dwyer | 6'1" | 204lbs | 7 7/8 inch hand
Justin Reagan Posted May 20, 2007 Author Posted May 20, 2007 The 5.5" square was DO, but I failed on the G8 DU. Justin Quote
Booyah!!! Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Nice bends Justin!!! Seems like you have the strength. Maybe you need to work on the 7" stuff for a while That is what worked for me. When it came to the 5/16 stuff you could have also called it ISOs. Quote I Love Bending Steel http://www.youtube.com/user/booyahbender
bencrush Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Great bends Justin! The 6 and 1/8" Drill Rod (9/32") is harder than the 6" Grade 8, so it must just be the spring or you were tired from the DR already. Quote
Tim71 Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Justin, Great Job. BTW, the bolt is on it's way to you. I got a little behind but I mailed it Saturday. The F911 is viscious. I'm like you I always forgot to try one until I was already tired but when I did finally try one fairly fresh, I got it. It's definately a heck of a jump from a G8 though. The Bastard will fall. Have you tried 7 inch by 5/16 cold rolled steel from a store? Tim Quote
Justin Reagan Posted May 21, 2007 Author Posted May 21, 2007 The only 5/16 I've tried from a store is the zinc plated. I'm going to get me some regular CRS next time I get a chance. Justin Quote
