lloyd80s Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Hi All, I'm working on the #3 and very slowly getting a mm nearer each week, it's hard going but I'm enjoying seeing the handles get that tiny bit closer with each workout! I was wondering what all of you would consider the best thing you've used to to jump from a gripper you've closed to you goal gripper? I can mash the #2 for about 10 reps now but reps don't really add much strengh when it comes to the #3. I'm also trying negs on the #3 but I cant hold it for even 2 secs. i don't have set workout days, I pick up my grippers whenever my hands don't hurt. The things I've tried are - Reps on the #2 Over crushes on the #2 Holds on the #2 Forced Negs on the #3 Singles as far as I can get on the #3 I do rubber band extensors to try and help recovery but to be honest my hands hurt EVERYDAY! It'd be great to hear how all of you have made the jump, how you went from a trainer to a #1 or a #3 to #4, it's a big accomplishment either way. Cheers Quote IT'S ONLY A SPRING........

I now know somewhat how to make routines for myself that I will gain from, whereas 8 months ago I had no idea. Thanks for the tips. I was just wondering how you would train the thumb on it's own? I don't have block weights, just grooved disks for my barbell. Can I do anything with these as I though that pinching had to be on smooth plates? Quote IT'S ONLY A SPRING........

Can I do anything with these as I though that pinching had to be on smooth plates? Easy, go find yourself a brick (any standard size brick will do) and tie some rope around it. Now all you have to do is attach the end of the rope to some weights and you have an adjustable block weight! http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?automod...si&img=5803 I reckon if you can put your grippers down for a week or so of rest and focus on some serious block weight training you'll surprise yourself next time you pick up a gripper!
