Tim71
Tonight I decided to try to better my record on 1/2 inch hot rolled steel. My old record was 16 inches but I wanted 15 and maybe 14. Well I decided to try 12 inches for the heck of it. With absolute all I had, I managed to get probably a 10 to 15 degree leg bend so I thought just maybe I might stand a chance of getting it. It took alot and was EXTREMELY hard but after probably 5 hits I managed to get it going and got it into a "U" with about 2 inches between the ends. Here's the pic of the bar with a 12 inch spike and 12 inch by 7/16 which was my PR not long ago. 1/2 inch by 12 inch steel bar I did have to pad my leg for this one. Haven't been doing that but this one was just too much pressure. Tim
ObsceneJester
Yuck Tim.. that is sick, congrats. You inspired me to try a Griprite 10inch spike.. needless to say I did not get it, but I have the bruise on my leg to show my inspiration
Tim71
If I had known I was going to get it I would've had the video rolling for strongmanfeats.com. About a year ago I got my first 12 inch griprite galvanized spike and not long after I tried the 10. Nothing happening and thought it felt impossible. Same will happen with you. The jump from 12 to 10 really whittles out alot of people but if you want it you'll get it. Tim

honk
Amazing bend Tim! How did you kink it? Against the shin? Over the tigh?
Tim71
Thanks guys! It's one I'm pretty proud of. Honk. I kinked it over my thigh. I used to bend under my knee but I've changed fairly recently. I did use padding on my thigh for this one. I've haven't been using padding but this bend but so much pressure that I decided to go with some padding. I have to kinda rest up after that one though. cjsta
Tim, that is one cool looking "U"! You need to get it on video, that would be a great addition to Gator's site. Chris
Tim71
Update! I just beat my PR with a 11.75 inch bar of 1/2 inch A36 hot rolled steel. I used thicker pads on this one because I was filming and didn't want to have to take the little breaks to let the pain subside like the 12 incher. I love this stuff! Here's a pic. 11.75 inch by 1/2 inch hot rolled steel Tim
