Has Bearcat Reach The #4 Yet

You know, it's really funny that you should ask. I was searching some REALLY old posts last night and found a bunch of stuff from when Heath certified on the #3. That was like 6 years ago. I also found a lot of remarks that he was bound to be a #4 closer. So, just because I was curious, I PM'd Heath to ask if it was ever one of his goals, and also if he is still training.

To paraphrase his response, he trained for the #4 really hard a while back and got set back by a couple of injuries. He mentioned he is not training grippers much, and it's not currently one of his goals.

Great guy with a great legacy!

Last time I talked to him he was coaching football? He told that gripper work was also taking a back seat to that. Again that was awhile ago.

If I'm not mistake he got the #4 at one of the dinners back in the day.

I do think Heath has closed some 4s befor. Even tho he has not trained grippers much as of late he is still Dang Strong! He posts some on Farmstrength.

I have heard he closed a #4 at a dinner but the set was considered "too deep" by Strossen? Not sure about this, don't believe me, maybe someone has a more accurate version.

Years ago Heath Sexton (Bearcat) was one of the strongest gripper closer of the board (There was Gorilla Hands also) and a real phenom with ultra fast progress. I think he closed the #4 a few times during trainings and also during a dinner (AOBS?). Strossen indeed refused to certify him, and it may well have been because of depth of the set as Lifesnotfair said.

Heath climbed near the top of the MM ladder not so long ago. He must still be very strong whether he trains or not. Great guy, very humble also.

In this thread, Heath mentions taking Sorin's Phantom 4 to 1/16" in front of Strossen.

One more from the archives. :tongue Heath mentions here that he has closed a "weaker" #4 a few times. Is that an oxymoron?

I trained hard last year for a bit and closed the MM4 and MM5 and from then on I have been on and off at best. I coach middle school football, weightlifting starts in January and we have fortunate to play for 2 championships and the oppurtunity to go to 2 more the last 4 years which takes us to the first week of November so my training takes a backseat to my teams. Going from January to November is rough having to prepare and rework everything every year, plus teaching. The #4 is not on my goal list and I have pretty much lost the fire to really get after grippers. I still train them but not very hard. I had the MM6 as a goal, but unless the bug strikes this summer, which I can train hard through, I have pretty much wrote it off also.

I have 4 different versions of DDR and a copy of In the Groove. They've all been played for hours. I go until my feet hurt. The dance games are awesome fun, good cardio too.

I was thinking this may be why you were able to make that shot on the duck a while back. We need to do more research on DDR's effects on precision rifle shooting.

There is a natural order. The way things are meant to be. An order that says the good guys always win, that you die when it's your time or when you have it coming, that the ending is always happy-if only for someone else.
