Hirtalion
Hi! I oredered a month ago grippers from Heavy Grips and Captains of Crush: HG 100, 150 and 200 and CoC #2, from different sellers. I received the CoC, and I don't know why the other package doesn't arrive... So I started training, but I cannot close it obviously, just a few centimetres!! Can I train isometric, after a warm-up with a toy grip of a hundred reps, or it can be dangerous? I don't want to wait I don't know how many days to get the other ones I ordered!! Thanks! Don't take this the wrong way, but there is lots and lots of info on grippers (if you're just starting out) in previous posts that i'm sure you will find useful. Just take the time to browse and also use the search facility at the top of the page before posting, as you're bound to find the answer you're looking for. neilkaz
I would say that you can give it a few hard squeezes, but even after warmup with the toy gripper, my first couple of squeezes would not be full effort. The one thing you DON'T want to do until you have a good base of some training with easier grippers is to do forced negatives. ..ie don't force it closed with the other hand helping and then let go. But a few hard squeezes (basically ISOS) should be fine. Just my opinion and experience and I've helped at least a dozen friends starting out. .. neilkaz .. Then they hurt themselves and wonder why! Quote "I have always been strong. I can only imagine what it is like to be weak" - Arthur Saxon "Success cannot be guaranteed.
