Bob Lipinski Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 Worked out with Jeff Flynn (AP) and Dave Thorton over at Don Larkin's gym today. Both guys hit a 7" Shiny pretty easy. Dave got a 6" past 90 degrees. Jeff blew through an 80d braced in like a minute, it was absurdly easy. Jeff and Dave tag teamed an Edgin and got it to maybe 90 degrees if I remember right. Jeff is a guy you don't hear much about, but he just learned DO this year. He has been putting nasty kinks in bastards reverse style for the last few years, I know for sure he did a red well past 40 degrees at one of the MI grip comps. I am pretty sure Jeff has it in him to do some great stuff (like really great) in the next year. I had a nice day. Did 2 hard 70d's, finished off a 6.5 red I started a couple of years ago, did a new bastard well under 5 minutes, then got a 6.5 to 45 degrees. I will be able to not embarass myself and hopefully get a hex come contest time. Quote US Handstrength

EricMilfeld Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 Wow! You guys are killing some serious steel! Quote
AP Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 Thanks Bob! I don't know about absurdly easy but I've gotten pretty consistant with that kind of 80d. The DO style has really dialed in for me the last few months, I hope to at least have a shot at an edgin by the contest. There's going to be some huge benders there though so I'm pretty sure it will take more than that to win the bending. Quote Pastrami on Wry
Tim71 Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Wow! Nice job there. What kind of 80d is that? Anybody know the brand that Don Larkin uses? Tim Quote
AP Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Its one of the bright ones from tractor supply. Don's 80ds are a good bit harder, more like the fatbastard type. But I'm getting closer on some of the harder ones too. Quote Pastrami on Wry
