Drill Rod

I ordered 15' of 9/32" oil hardened drill rod from Fastenal. Can't wait until it gets here--finally some steel between 1/4" and 5/16". I picked up a little of the 1/4" and 5/16" that they had in stock--1/4" to see what the drill rod feels like, 5/16" to look at for a while...I ended up bending a 4 7/8" x 1/4" piece DU (probably could've gotten 4.5" if I didn't have a small ripped place on my hand from my last DO workout...). Has a little different feel to it, doesn't it?

Yep different feel, kinda like stainless. I think that at the same diameter its a bit tougher than you average CRS to crush down though. Good luck with it.

I can get both a G5 and G8 DO, and I can get the G5 and kink the G8 with DU.

Just don't ask about reverse style... :whistel

The 9/32 is good stuff. Definately harder than the 9/32 CRS and probably not too far from the weakest 5/16 CRS. The crush is definately a workout. I think I sent a 7 inch piece to Eric a while back and it cal'd at 355 lbs.

Go get it!
