kelby Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 i am almost closing the 2.5. i can close it when i grab my other hand, but not when i extend my arm out and squeezing it. i want something a little stronger than 2.5 for when i can close it. i still can barely move my three. it is very hard that three man. i think it is close to a four. if thats possible. gerryg Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 This is a tough question to answer due to the fact that grippers vary! I'm going to say go with a RB210 or a Beef Builder Grand Master. http://www.fatbastardbarbellco.com/RBGRIPPERS.html http://www.wwfitness.com/handgrippers.html Quote

I'm going to say go with a RB210 or a Beef Builder Grand Master.http://www.fatbastardbarbellco.com/RBGRIPPERS.html http://www.wwfitness.com/handgrippers.html I agree. The IM 2.5 I have is much harder than my RB210, and is harder than my SuperMaster. The only gripper that is guaranteed to be tougher than a 2.5 but easier than a 3 is a Grand Master, and it may not be too much easier than a #3. Some HG300's fill that gap, and some don't. Maybe a RB260Narrow? Not guaranteed either... Quote

Maybe a RB260Narrow? Not guaranteed either... I dont really have this problem I use freeweights, or just chrush the woody. Or I crush the grippers from higher in the handle. But if you want something between a #3 and a 2.5 the solutiton doesnt seem so hard Why not? 1. buy a #3 and see wich of your two is harder 2. take the easiest one and mark it 3. take it and stomp the crap out of it, little by little, until you get what you want. greg's&dave's experiment proved it makes them easier to close. you cant use them to certify on anything so who cares? if you show the grip community, just say its "easy", narrow, or stomped-seasoned. sience grippers vary anyway....... some claim the 2.5 is almost like the #3 some claim its almost like the #2. Thats why ironmind said they didn't make "tweeners" before. oh and hubgeezer's advice as always seemed about right to me. aquilonian Quote
lifesnotfair Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 You said you want something for AFTER you can close the #2.5, right? Not for doing negatives or anything right now... Then the cheapest solution is: After you can close your #2.5, take a file, and file the end of both handles a little bit. There, you just increased it to 2.7 or whatever, depending on how much you filed it. Quote
Autolupus Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 (edited) I'd just stick with the #2.5 for the moment and work negs on the #3. I've MMS my #2.5 but can't get an unbraced close on the #3(can get a braced close though) See how the #3 feels when you can close the #2.5. Edited April 11, 2007 by Autolupus Quote Mike Mackenzie. kelby Posted April 13, 2007 Author Posted April 13, 2007 i think i will. you know i never did work on the sweep on it. i wish they had little gages. tell us how we are improving, or try and beat your previous record. maybe iron mind will put them on the grippers next. who knows. lol Quote
Scott Styles Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 I bet it'd be pretty easy to rig something up between the gripper handles with a hinged stick and a little tape. Quote You don't get a dog and do the barking yourself.

antarath Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 (edited) Just to confuse you even more; my RB240 is pretty much the same as my #2 The RB210N feels like my #1. Thought #2 was 195 lbs, and he wanted a gripper harder than 2.5. hmm. Wouldn't that be a 240 lbs or tougher? Mats Edited April 18, 2007 by Mats Erik Quote Real name: Mats Erik Engelsvoll
