GarytheDino Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 I've done a search and all I can find is that the 3.5 is equal to the Elite according to spring size but if it is a true 3.5 wouldn't it be about Super Elite. I have one on the way, just wondering what to expect. Quote You Tube Videos http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=dinosaur22840
porkchop Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 My 3.5 is between an Elite and Super Elite. It rated 10lbs harder than my Elites on the RGC. pc Quote Real Name: Gregory Allen 2008 Goals Pinch: Blob 50, 2x45's Crush: MM2, IM #3.5 "There's no limits, just the ones you set for yourself." --Joe Kinney
GarytheDino Posted April 1, 2007 Author Posted April 1, 2007 Ok, that sounds like it's right where it should be then. Quote You Tube Videos http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=dinosaur22840
Wes Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Mine seems a hair tougher than what I remember Greg's to be, might be because the spring is binding a bit. But overall the new 3.5's seem to be the most consistent grippers that have been produced yet Quote There is a natural order. The way things are meant to be. An order that says the good guys always win, that you die when it's your time or when you have it coming, that the ending is always happy-if only for someone else.
sixlitre Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Mine seems a hair tougher than what I remember Greg's to be, might be because the spring is binding a bit. But overall the new 3.5's seem to be the most consistent grippers that have been produced yet Kinda funny you should say that. We have two of them, and they are considerably different. One I can get within 1/4 to 1/8 in. of closing, the other is 1/2 in. or better most days. The new springs definitely have the smoothest sweeps though. Have to agree that it is closer to a super elite than a elite. Quote 2007 Grip Goals Pinch 3-25's the 200 lb Anvil Close my #3 for 8 VBar 400 DO DL 550 Dave Juma Mr. MAX-OUT
Hubgeezer Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 I have one on the way, just wondering what to expect. Expect a very difficult gripper. I have one, but my right hand is injured, and it is WAY too tough for my left hand to be messing around with it. Because it is outside my range, I don't have an accurate estimate, but I think it is tougher than 3.5. Hbgzr Quote
acorn Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Mine is between my Hard Flush BBE, and my Flush BBSE. Last workout I either closed it or got within a hair of closing the 3.5. SE I'm still 1/4 to 3/8 away. - Aaron Quote ** Retired **
Sybersnott Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 ... the 3.5 is equal to the Elite according to spring size but if it is a true 3.5 wouldn't it be about Super Elite. My Super Elite is a hellva lot harder than my 3.5 gripper... are you sure about that spring size? Quote "I have always been strong. Or a mix of both? I can live with my 3 being a 3.2 or my 2 being a 1.8, but I hate the feeling of wasting my money. I feel for you man. My filed #2 is up to just around a 2.5. Sometimes my #2.5 feels easier. Quote
menace3000 Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 (edited) perhaps time to get BBSM or BBGM....my BBSM is 2.7....i filed it downto being around a #3 on the close.... my 3.5 feels a good deal harder than my BBE....the sweep is harder, the close is MUCH harder...i dont have a BBSE but i have 2002 #4....and my 3.5 feels like it's closer to #4 than my BBE.... Cashman Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 My #3.5 has a 3 1/4" spread, and it's a tad harder than my Elite......but not even close to my SE. Quote
THOR Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 hmm the thought of a shaved one being harder honestly didnt cross my mind, and ill just hope that that is the case and hope i didnt waste my money... thanks for the sympathy Quote "....with the strength of thirty men in the grip of each hand" Beowulf
Bob Lipinski Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 If you have a super elite that is a little older, it might be easier. All of the recent BB grippers I have seen have been mounted with the spring flush or even below. Personally, if I was gonna order a BB gripper, from now on I would get a custom so I knew what I would be getting. An SE mounted at 1/4 probably wouldn't be too much tougher than a 3.5.
