bencrush Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 Great order Rob! I know it'll help you. You supply the horsepower and that great variety of hard steel will take you far. Quote

Tim71 Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Very nice order. I was very pleased with my order and felt like a kid at Christmas when I got it. Very nice steel that isn't all rusted and funky looking. The CRS makes some of the best bends for keepers or trophies I've ever seen. Also, taking the time to grind down the sharp edges is a very big bonus. Tim Quote
ObsceneJester Posted March 28, 2007 Author Posted March 28, 2007 Yeah I just hope I don't bog down Mr. Beatty with my order.. I've only heard great things about him and his company so I'm not worried Quote Name: Rob H
jaccord Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 I've made only one order with him so far myself, but there will surely be more to come. I was pleased with my order. I also appreciated the edges of the steel being grinded down to take off the sharp edges, as Tim T mentioned. I'm sure you'll have fun with it. Josh Quote

Having the edges nicely ground down gets to be even more important the stronger you get. The chances of a sharp edge tearing through some layers as you get stronger and more powerful increases exponentially. I should send you a picture of my heavy duty thick leather pads that I decided NOT to grind down an edge on one of my hardest bends back in late January...went through many, many layers of leather. Quite a sight when you consider how strong leather is usually and how many bends I had done with those pads with nothing being punched through. Besides, there's nothing as neat as getting the FBBC package of steel in the mail! My wife kind of rolls her eyes when I reorder and the package gets here. Because like a kid at Christmas, there is no pretense at being polite. I just stand there on the doorstep and rip into the package as fast as I can. Then I get the steel out as fast as possible and trot into the laundry room to start loading the leather up. Ah...getting teary eyed just thinking about it. Quote

Lol I love the write up.. very descriptive and elaborate makes me want it more.. From the posts of 2005 till now there has been nothing but good things said about Mr. Beatty and I have no doubt that he is every bit as professional as Ironmind and that's why I went with him because of all the positive feedback.. Like you said it's like Christmas and it seems like every day is like a thousand and you just want it here and I'm trying my best to understand that is a 150 pieces of steel and that takes time to cut, sand and package those pieces.. I honestly feel like a kid waiting for Christmas again.. I check my e-mails, both boards (grippermania) and just wait.. I'm freakin excited Quote Name: Rob H
dimmers Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I have to agree with Ben, you won't be dissapointed! I got my first order through at the start of the month and it was brilliant, i'm sure you'll agree when you get yours. I've recently put through a reload order (a bit similar to yours actually but not quite as much) so i'm sure John is going to be kept pretty busy over the next several weeks You can't beat fbbc for value for money (as far as i'm aware) even though i have to get John to ship to the UK! I've yet to try any Ironmind stock so i can't compare with that, but i doubt i ever will due to the price tag they put on their postage something to look forward to though definately with your order!!!
