Longer Bend Practice

Well, day 2 of Edgin training went a bit better. Got 3 - 7.5" Bastard bars, a 7.5" x 5/16 hex, then a 7.5" x 5/16 stainless. The Bastards were done back to back, the Hex & stainless had a set of shrugs (505 x 8, 595 x 8) between each bar. I always bend better on squat, DL & Strongman training days. I'm going to try 2 sessions a week, for 1 month before my next Edgin attempt. As soon as that goes down, I'll try for the KOAB.

I'm getting motivated for my 40th year goals.

Started pulling deads off a 2" box, gearing up to improve my start on the DL, Goal 800+ this year. And a 2050 total at a PL meet

S Had my first Strongman workout in months a week ago & it went pretty well, Axle C&P with 280 for 3, goal is 6-8 for comp in July

Stones went well, only loaded first 4, didn't even bother setting the 385 on the ground, will be making a 425 stone soon.

Tire flip was smooth for 10 flips with the 800, the last two were cardio air suckers.

Will start sled & Farmers next weekend.

Looking for a caber, started throwing, too

This year I want to hit Highland games, PL, Strongman, Grip & Odd Lifts meets to celebrate my entry into oldness.

I think the long bar training especially with the hex bars will pay off!

Excellent bending John! You'll kill that Edgin next time with that kind of focus. Good to see you training more frequently too. I think you'll kick that KOAB in the nuts too pretty soon. :D

Also super stout deadlifting!

You get the big bolt John, no doubt about it. To me that's one impressive bend that takes alot of work to get to. I plan on being there one day.

BTW, thanks for the timely shipment of the steel. And man you have some of the smoothest steel I've ever seen. When I opened the package I almost thought you had sent stainless instead of CRS but then I saw the stainless and man it was even shinier. Almost looks like polished silver or something.
