Finally A New Du Pr.

Wanted to give a shout out to volume bending. My volume and strength focus have paid off with a new DU PR. It's been a while coming and I was beginning to question whether or not the workouts were working actually. They are so I'm happy now.

Also want to thank MrZsasz for the big shipment of Grade 5s.

Right off the bat I've got to tell Dan that the workouts are working man. The last volume workout I did was very similar to what I've written out for him. So hammer away at it when those wrists heal and the PRs will fall!

I warmed up thoroughly this morning before work. Got up at 6 and spent a half hour stretching and doing One Hand Deadlifts then warmed up like this for my newest DU PR:

All Ironmind Pads for DU as usual.

-1/4"X6.5" CRS to 52 degrees in 2 seconds.

-1/4"X6" Grade 5-P to 30 degrees in 4 seconds. Quit too early like an idiot because I thought I was at the 40 degrees already. These Grade 5s are from MrZsasz in Canada.

-1/4"X6" Grade 5-P to 55 degrees in 5 seconds. Not a very promising start actually.

-1/4"X6" Grade 5-Diamond to 52 degrees in 6 seconds. Okay! Strength is good then when I can get these.

-1/4"X6" Grade 5-P to 57 degrees in a fraction less than 3 seconds! Fastest DU Grade 5 bend ever.

-1/4"X5" Grade 5-P to 67 degrees in 8 seconds!!! High five! Hell yeah. That's what I have been gunning for quite a while. Finally yielded to me today.

Stopped the workout because I had to go to work. Well instead of working 8 hours today, we ran out of work (which I was fine with) and they let me go home at noon. Got home shot the crap with Carrie a while and then told her that I had to give the Grade 5 another shot on video for David Horne's cert. She said that sounded like a good idea and asked if I wanted her to watch...one of the many reasons I love her so much:)

So I started warming up again with that in mind.

-1/4"X6.5" CRS to 58 degrees in 1 second. Pretty fast but it's easy.

-Hard 60D Nail to 63 degrees in 4 seconds. 2 hits because I wasn't sure it was at 40 degrees yet.

-1/4"X6" Grade 5-P to 45 degrees in 6 seconds.

-1/4"X5" Grade 5-P to 65 degrees in 20 seconds! My 2nd 5" Grade 5 DU what a feeling guys. I probably had it in 10 seconds in reality but again I didn't want to look like an idiot on video for David Horne's DU cert, so I hit it a few more times to make sure.

-1/4"X6" Grade 8-JH to only 3 degrees. Hahahahaha! I was kind of fried at this point

Had to add that I was concerned that these Grade 5s might be super easy (they are a bit easier than normal Grade 5s) so I cut a 5" Triangle Grade 5 and got that to 40+ degrees within 15 seconds...so it's all good. I can rest tonight. LOL.

And I'm tempted to go out and hammer some more Hard 60D Nails and/or 6" Grade 5s down but we've got a 1 year old's birthday party to attend in about 30 minutes.

4.5" Grade 5 in the future? Probably not...but I am considering training for it. I bet the list of who's bent that is S_H_O_R_T!

That's a lot of G5s going down Ben, in quick time! Couldn't imagine doing them DU as i find them tough DO at the moment, so great work

If you get a chance, some vids of these super quick bends would be great. You could do a highlight reel of all those G5s in one quick short vid
