mwinsl01 Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 I closed my hg 250 110 pounds yesterday today i closed my hg 300 128 pounds pressure 3 sets of 5 the spread is only 2.3 though in my negative sets. I am getting my 2.5 coc on next tuesday and work on that for negatives and start working on closing the 2 as the goal gripper. I have a coc 3, but do not think i am ready to do negatives on that. I cannot close my 2 yet and it is only 117 pounds per my weight scale, but it has a 2.75 spread, and i think this is what is holding me back. I am use to a 2.5 to 2.2 inch spread, which is easy to set with hg grippers. At any rate I made my 2006 goal of being able to close my easy hg 300! Quote Done HG 300 128 pounds of pressure closed 12/29/06 COC 2 117 pounds closed no set in 02/07 Goals COC 2.5 1/8 inch away BB narrow grip Elite 1/8 inch away

lifesnotfair Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 HG's vary so much... wow, you can close an HG300 but not a #2? I thought HG300's were supossed to be a bit harder than that... wow. Quote
menace3000 Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 I recently closed my HG300 after not being able to get through the last 1/16" for a long time. In fact I closed my 2006 #3 and held shut for close to 20 sec...before I finally overcame my Hg300....and the spread on my HG is fairly small also... Quote
acorn Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 They do vary alot. I finally calibrated my HG300 yesterday. Granted it is filed a bit, but it came out at 150lbs, which is about average for a #3 based on Greg's testing. But since they do vary alot, you can usually only know where they are relative to your other grippers unless you calibrate them. - Aaron Quote ** Retired **

I just bought my coc grippers a few weeks ago so i am used to a 2.2 - 2.6 inch spread. the coc 2 gripper is 2.75-2.8 and is hard to set. i will work on it and the coc 2.5 which i will get next week. acorn Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 I just wanted to clarify one thing from my previous post. The 150# reading was made using a redneck gripper calibrator, not a weight scale. Two different animals and the numbers are not related. If you are using the weight scale method that is fine as it will give you a relative reading for how far apart your grippers are. - Aaron Quote ** Retired **
