chop163 Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 When I bought Deaner's 2005 #3, I had some questions about bending a Red and he was nice enough to throw in 3 Red nails (wrapped in a Sponge Bob Squarepants napkin no less)! Living in Australia I'd not been willing to fork out the huge amount of shipping for IM nails (because they only sell large quantities). Having never even seen a Red nail, I knew bending a Red was hard, but never really understood the big deal everyone made. I do now. Holy crap, I thought Deaner had accidently sent me a bunch of fence posts. So I did what any of you would, wrapped that sucker up and gave it hell (Disclaimer: I am by no means good at bending,in fact, I suck at it). After much straining (and cursing), I put a 1mm bow in it, that's it, 1mm. To everyone who has bent a Red or harder, I salute you. I WILL join you one day on the Red nail Roster. verdigriz Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 (edited) I know how you mean... Boyaah was kind enough to send some gear to me to try and the yellow and blue fell easily, the red was well...another ball game. Also the easy and common 60ds fell all reverse style...thanks again boyaah, btw, the reinforced concrete mesh cuts are harder than the common shiney 60d boyaah sent. steelhmr Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 i feel the exact same way. after recently holding one in my hands for the first time, i am in awe of anyone who can take one down. they look so much more intimidating in person than on some online video. someday, someday. Quote
deaner Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 Glad you liked the spongebob napkin, and anyone who wraps one of those suckers up after first getting one in his hands and gives it a go will undoubtably bend one soon enough, some kinda mental toughness thing I guess. I wonder if ironmind could help you guys down under out, the shipping isn't that bad if you take the time to check into it at the post office, its quite reasonable and I don't understand why some companies charge so much for it. I bugs me so much living up here in alaska when I see what they want to charge and I know damn well it ain't that bad cuz I ship stuff back and forth all the time.
