Wicked Willie Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Howdy all: I have an annoying injury of sorts. The tendon that crosses my elbow on my right arm is angry with me. Within one or two workouts with either grippers, plate loaded grip machine, strap holds, or blob pinches...it starts acting up and is painful. I rest it for three weeks or so...but within one or two sets, the same things manifests. If I'm careful, I can use the wrist roller and can occasionally do timed holds with a barbell. Any ideas on treatment or how to speed healing? Quote Goals: Close IM #2 VBar dead of 200 "Old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill"
Mlstrass Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Gotta work the extensors as you've created an imbalance. Expand the hand bands work wonders. Ice it often. Trigger point therapy. Cut back on your other grip work until it heals. Resting and then going right back to what injured it in the first place won't help, as you've found out. Did the same to my left arm about 3 months ago. Back to 100% now. 3-4 sessions of therapy with the bands did wonders for me. Now I use them before I do grippers and have remained injury free. Good luck on your recovery. Quote
Wicked Willie Posted December 13, 2006 Author Posted December 13, 2006 Thanks for your reply. I do work my extensors...both with bands and with manual resistance. Pesky tendon. Will try your other suggestions, as well. Quote Goals: Close IM #2 VBar dead of 200 "Old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill"
