OldGuy Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 I see there is currently an auction for an Inch dumbbell replica on Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/Thomas-Inch-Dumbbell-R...1QQcmdZViewItem Quote Not afraid to ruffle feathers!
twig Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 I wonder how much it would be to ship that puppy to the UK? Quote Be nice until it's time to not be nice-Patrick Swayze, Dalton, Raodhose. R.I.P.
chop163 Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 If when Soilworker was going to ship me a Blob50 from the US to Australia is anything to go by, the shipping on an Inch Replica would be well over $300USD. Quote Crushing is my business, and business is good.
Soilworker Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 If when Soilworker was going to ship me a Blob50 from the US to Australia is anything to go by, the shipping on an Inch Replica would be well over $300USD. Yeah it will be a lot, but the Inch could be strapped to a pallet and shipped freight, which would lessen the cost vs. a normal package. Still it will be what is commonly known as an arse-load of money. Quote AKA Jeremy
twig Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 But it's so pretty... Quote Be nice until it's time to not be nice-Patrick Swayze, Dalton, Raodhose. R.I.P.
The Chuck Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Congrats to Jedd for winning a well priced Inch Dumbell, he beat me out for it. Its just as well, I probably never would have picked it up anyway Edit: I spoke to soon, looks like even Jedd got sniped out, gotta love ebay! Sybersnott Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 I woulda bid on that, but for some reason, I couldn't get onto Ebay... yes, I am sad. Quote "I have always been strong. Kurt Lane Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Damn I woulda bought that. Then I could have another dumbell that I can only role around the floor. Quote Do, or do not, there is no try. - Yoda
Chuckie B. Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Kurt, You got to get one, it's part of the history of our game. Every time I walk into my garage gym my eyes race to it. When I lifted the back bell off the floor for the first time about an inch or two my heart started to race. What a cool feeling. Quote "Live long, stay strong" - C.F.B.
Revtor Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Yeah I saw Jedd bidding.. so I set my price and let it ride. If I won, great, if not oh well. I realize that Jedd's got more use for it than me so I didn't want to do any sniping on it. it was located it a prime place for me to pick it up though! did anyone here win it? I didnt recognize the name. They got a great deal if they can go pick it up.. ~Steve Quote Belay on!!

I am training currently to try and lift it.. but I am WAY off I can only do about 120lb on a 2.5'' dumbell. Quote Do, or do not, there is no try. - Yoda
Bill Piche Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 I read on IronHistory.com that the foundry will no longer be making replicas? Quote
DAN PRAYDIS Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 maybe some one can do what GordonV did with the blob 50 and get some made Quote JUST BECAUSE ITS NOT ALIVE * DOESN'T MEAN ITS DEAD
Hubgeezer Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 I read on IronHistory.com that the foundry will no longer be making replicas? I saw that too. The foundry is closed, out of business. That ebay Inch, as it turns out, now was a bargain. There was speculation that there were only 200 made? Geez, I would have guessed 1000 plus. It would be interesting to know how many members on this board have one. Dan, I suspect that if there are that few of them, the low demand would make it a financial loser for someone new to go to the trouble of making Replicas. And remember that Michael Keaton movie, Multiplicity? Remember what happened when they tried to clone him from a Replica? Disaster. They would need Kim Wood's Original to avoid such a mishap. I think the Inch Replica, like the Mighty Atom's bio, will quickly shoot up in value. Hbgzr Quote

You can see them in my Gallery under the following link Price is very good and shipping very fast! Soon to be mine, muhahahaha!! The grip is not totally round so on the one hand side in some positions it's easier to lift it (see Clay Edgins experiment in his gallery) and on the other hand side the grip is a lot thicker than the IM replicas and the Nathan Holle Replicas. In addition the grip is not as long as the origional Inch - so it is impossible to grap it if Your hand is really big.
