Tfriend Posted November 12, 2006 Author Posted November 12, 2006 im new can somoen explain grades to me, like some places it says a grade 3 is as hard as a grade 8 and other places different i dont get it. and also i bouhgt some 60D nails just to mess around, i bent them but there like cut weird, there not smoth there like kinda aerodynamicaaly cut, (like the inside of a gun barrel) does thies mater? Grade 2's have a very wide range of variance. Some are like bending a fork from your silverware drawer, some 5/16" are like a tough 1/4" grade 8 or higher. There are progression lists at the top of this page that will give you a good feel. Stainless (shiny Bastards) are about the same as a Bastard on the start, but get much harder on the crush. They feel like a Bastard at maybe 1" - 1.5" shorter on the finish. Hexabastards are tougher on the start than a Bastard , but easier on the finish. Grade 8's are very tough on the finish, springy.
