3/8"x7" Grade 2 (307a Brand)

To all the guys who have bent one of these big fat bolts and/or an Edgin, the question in my mind is how close are they to each other? I haven't bent an Edgin yet (very tiny kink only) but am hoping that I'm pretty close with this new PR bend. At the 5 minute mark I was stuck again at only 90 degrees. Rested 8 minutes and then got it finished off in a bit over 2 minutes earlier today.

It was the hardest thing I've ever bent. And now I'm curious if Eric has ever calibrated one? I don't remember seeing one on the list.

I'll post a picture of it beside a 1/4"X6" Grade 5 in my Gallery because that's a neat picture. :cool

SWEET bend Ben!

I guess I need to start bending for MI, I haven't bent anything since the BBB. Tomorrow after my workout, I guess.

I like heavy things.

Thanks a lot John! You're going to be just fine for the MGC5...you always seem to be the type of guy (that I normally hate:) who can take 3 weeks off and bend a few hard pieces...then take 3 weeks off and maybe bend a few more hard pieces...then hit the Magnificent in quick time. :cool

That is a cool looking bend! Good job Ben.

You don't get a dog and do the barking yourself.

Wow! That is one awesome bend. I know this is a stupid question but what is an edgin? I noticed the threads are actually bent one both of those bolts pictured. Maybe that says something about what I should do with my bending style.

Man that is awesome. I hope do be able to do that someday.

Great bend Ben !!!!!! the 3/8 stuff is weird I bent one a long time ago and it wasn't to hard. and then I tried another one and It wouldn't move anywhere. Clay had one that he couldn't move either. They vary alot. :)

Ben, the "307A" is a type of bolt similar to a grade 2, and not really a brand. And as you may have guessed, they vary considerably. Some will be much tougher than an Edgin, while others much easier. I say you try another Edgin. You definitely have a surplus of crush strength for the task!

not close at all, you should probably give up your bending right now :tongue
