Deadlifter Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 I'm back from it. I had to leave early because my family had some other obligation. I only stayed for grippers and bending, but I met a lot of cool people in the process. I'm really bad with names and remembering things but I have pictures from the contest. -Alex Quote

bencrush Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Sweet Jesus, I knew that someone would a Magnificent, I didn't expect 4 though! Thats insane. Good job guys. Now we just need some names.- Aaron The 5 that bent a Magnificent Bastard were Dave Morton, Josh Dale, Sean Prince, John Beatty and me. Mine was the slowest by far. Franky got a Grand Hex! John Eaton got a Grand Bastard and got a healthy kink on the Magnificent Bastard! Travis Mickelberry got a Huge Bastard! Chuck Carns got his first Bastard! Thomas Suk got his first Bastard! And more...don't remember if he got a Big Bastard AND a Huge Bastard after that...enlighten me Thomas. Cabertosser got his first Bastard! And I think a Big Bastard after that. I'm sorry if I forgot someone, and I'm sure I did...I can't sleep and have been up for almost 24 hours running on pure adrenaline since the contest. Pure insanity at this contest! Bending was through the roof. Quote
bencrush Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Vbar was a tie between me and Dave Thornton. And I have to let it be known that Dave is FAR stronger than I am...but is too much of a gentleman to beat me by a few pounds. Instead he elected to try the weight that I failed to lift, which was 376. He probably would have gotten it but had torn his palm in a previous lift. He also pulled my max (351) with absolute ease and probably had another 20-30 pounds in him if he hadn't torn his skin. Tough to pull big after all the events but it's what I saved myself for a bit. Second in the vbar was 331 I think. Josh Dale and Dave Morton? Not sure who else got it. I didn't take notes this time because I was too focused on trying to pull a rabbit out of my grip hat. Quote
gazza Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 All those guys hitting bastards an above the best bending display in a contest to date Wish i could have been there Well done guys. Scott Styles Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 It sounds like a great contest, congratulations to all. Quote You don't get a dog and do the barking yourself.
bencrush Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Grippers doneOut of 19 competitors, 16 closed a #3 or better Dave Morton won with a SE close 2nd place was Josh P. with a MM3 close 4 people tied for 3rd with an Easy Elite close 4th place was a single stamped #3 with a wide spread All I know right now. We used 2 different Elites at the contest. One was slightly easier than the other. Not trying to nitpick though. I think John B had it written down who did what. Quote
bencrush Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Ah! I knew I had forgotten at least one great bend. Congrats to Dave Thornton on his first Bastard and then Big Bastard!!! His best bend coming into the contest was a Grade 8. Quote
Mikael Siversson Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Big congratulation to Dave for winning and to all other competitors. Sounds like a great competition. Big vbar lift Ben! Quote
