kelby
i am gonna try doing grippers daily except one day offf. i will do 8 to 10 sets of number three. force shut it and hold it as long as i can. the do hammer levering. this will be one week, next week i will do strap hold daily with number two. i will alternate these two workouts for few weeks or couple months. see if i can close the number three. by december. i never really tried closing it, i mean train for it. because i like grappling. and my hands get too tirred after grappling. so, what is your thought. Hazerboy
Grippers will help for grappling but not to the extent that you're training them - I would suggest more pinch work, wrist work and thick bar work instead of just "grippers grippers grippers." Closing grippers really becomes mostly about the crush after awhile, and this doesn't really help with anything in the real world.

Kelby, are you taking time off from grappling? If not, I would suggest doing light volume with the grippers. Focus more on things like rope climbing, and your thumb strength. These help more for grappling. Endurance is more important to, are you still swinging big hammers? Swinging those big hammers will build a lot of endurance. Well, I guess to close the number three, you're going to have to lay off the other stuff a little
